Our large 100-year-old traditional New Zealand house has been recently refurbished. Comfortable homely atmosphere with heated rooms, baggage storage, car parking, bicycle parking, barbecue area, TV lounge (DVD player), 5 fast Internet computers ($2 per hour), TVs in double rooms. Bicycles for hire at $7 per day. 10 minutes walk to Cathedral Square, central city nightlife and the Arts Centre. • From the city centre (Cathedral Square): • 1. Walk 4 blocks north on Colombo street. • 2. Walk 1.5 blocks west on Bealey Avenue. • Or take any bus to the north-west (14, 15, 16, 19) • Get off at Carlton Corner, walk east on Bealey. • From the airport • There are 4 possibilities: • 1. Since 2004 things have really changed!!! The place is very friendly and the staff very helpful. To save money and have a good time go there. You'll enjoy the place, which is just a 10-minute walk to the city center. And if you are too lazy to move you could also tan in the large garden. — Betty (2005-08-26) Quite a walk from town, owner was miserable & always stressed. Didnt like the atmosphere at all, there was a big fight over a theft on the first night of our stay. Wouldnt reccommend staying here, poorly run & unfriendly.
