GENERAL INFORMATION
Stay at the Manjimup Lodge and Backpackers the gateway to the beautiful South West forests of Western Australia which has some of the most magnificent forest country in the world.

The clear, crisp air and rich landscape of the South West Forests produce and nurture the magnificent forests of karri, marri and tingle trees so closely associated with this picture postcard area. Its exquisite landscapes are a blend of gently contoured, vine-clad hillsides, fertile orchards and majestic forests.

It is a great central base to experience the wonders of Bridgetown, Nannup, Walpole and Pemberton. With its abundance of attractions from rural country charm to rugged sea cliffs, Manjimup Shire with its natural beauty and enjoyable lifestyle delights visitors and residents alike.

FACILITIES
Our facilities are BRAND NEW. Whether you're an overseas or resident traveller, single, couple or a groups you will enjoy your stay at the Manjimup Lodge and Backpackers. We are a hop, skip and jump to the hotel, shops, cafes, banks, swimming pool, tourist bureau to name but a few of the facilities that this country town provides.

Reception/Office Hours
For your convenience our office is open 7 days/week. Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm and 9.30am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Security
In addition to the onsite Caretaker, we have security cameras located throughout the building and Swipe Card access for after hours entry.

Recreation and Entertainment
We have a huge entertainment and barbecue area. Enjoy sport, a movie or music on FOXTEL on the maxi screen, projection TV. Perhaps you're up for a game of pool, table tennis or just to relax and enjoy a cool drink or chocolate from one of our vending machines.

Dining
Depending on the weather choose indoor or alfresco style dining on the patio. There are Barbecue facilities and outdoor seating in the grassed courtyard where you can enjoy your meal under the stars.

Kitchen
We have a large pantry with and extensive shelving for food storage and have a separate commercial fridge and freezer room. The all-new, stainless steel, modern and spacious self-cater kitchen includes three gas stoves, ovens, grill, microwaves, sandwich makers, toasters and electric jugs.

Bathrooms
We boast the cleanest, newest bathroom bathrooms around. Our facilities are tastefully decorated and cleaned professionally daily. Wheelchair access and facilities are available and some rooms have ensuite bathrooms.

Laundry
There are three new commercial washing machines and two commercial dryers in our new laundry. We have outdoor line space for sun drying and an iron and ironing board are available for your convenience.

Internet, Phone and Fax
Only the best High speed ADSL internet and wireless access is available. You can send a Fax during office hours.

EMPOLOYMENT / JOBS / SEASONAL WORK
Manjimup is in the centre of a thriving horticultural region. There is seasonal work available all year round in vineyards, fruit orchards, packing sheds and on farms.

Manjimup Lodge & Backpackers works closely with labour hire business LABOUR SOLUTIONS which has an office located on-site. If you're a backpacker wanting to extend your VISA or a resident of Australia on a working holiday then you've come to the right place. Labour Solutions can employ and place you into seasonal work. We offer you a one stop shop where you can finish work, pick up your pay slip and take care of anything else related to work from home.

LABOUR SOLUTIONS has two, twenty seater busses, so if transport is a problem for you, you needn't worry. If you have a car and are happy to take others to work then you will be paid an extra fuel allowance.

If you wish to extend your Visa then you must undertake seasonal harvest work in rural and regional Australia. You can work with one employer for up to six months and after three months can apply for a 12-month visa extension.

ATTRACTIONS & THINGS TO SEE
Manjimup embodies all the charm of a Western Australian country town, and is the centre of a thriving fruit and vegetable industry. Take time to explore the towering forests, wildflowers, bush walks, fishing, wineries, train rides, heritage trails, historical sites, climbing trees, galleries and craft shops.

Big Brook Forest & Dam - One of the most picturesque places in karri country. Have a barbecue, picnic, swim and fish or take an easy 3.5km walk along the trail that circles the dam. (Free of Charge)

Timber Park - Take a fascinating insight into the local industry and logging heritage of Manjimup. The park contains a museum, historical hamlet, vintage machinery and a blacksmith's forge. (free of charge)

Diamond Tree - Standing 51 metres high and visitors can climb to the top for spectacular views over the forest. The Tree was used as a fire lookout from 1941 and is still in use today. (free of charge)

Four Aces - View the spectacular row of karri trees that are over 300 years old. (free of charge)

One Tree Bridge - As the name suggests this bridge was made from a single karri tree and survives as a testament to the ingenuity of the early pioneers. (free of charge)

King Jarrah - One of the biggest jarrah trees in the south-west. A 650m walk trail starts at the foot of this majestic tree and this is a great spot to enjoy the wildflowers in spring. (free of charge)

Wildflowers - Over 8000 species of wildflowers burst into spectacularly colourful blooms in Spring. This includes 150 species of exquisitely beautiful orchid erupt into dazzling mosaics.
