5 Great, warm, good facilities
Centrally heated. Kitchen up and downstairs. Reasonable lockers for hire and good sizes too. Very helpful staff. Foundations of knowledge. heaps of brochures to plan your trip as well as advise from the staff. Clean room, power points in most for recharging phones and batteries for cameras. Large number of toilets and bathroom facilities. Hairdryers in girls bathroom on both floors. Pool table, internet facilities, even the old computer game like used to be in cafes years ago.

5 Fantastic!
This hostel was incredibly clean, felt quite safe, and is extremely well located. Just around the corner from Cathedral Square. Great hostel!

5 This was my first stop in NZ and one of my most favorite YHA Hostels I stayed in. The TV room is spacious and I like the variety of showers and toilets such as private stalls and Men/Women facilities. This will be one of my stops when I decide to return to NZ.

5 A really brilliant hostel, the rooms are spacious and clean, as are the toilets and washrooms. There are plenty of decent restaurants and cafes around the hostel, and it's not far from cathedral square and the coach stop. The staff are mega friendly and give loads of info about the attractions in and around Christchurch. No gripes about this place -- it's tops.

4 Clean, centrally-located, and good amenities. Dorms mostly have four or six beds in them and are quiet and comfortable. Large kitchen with good free food shelf (typical for airport cities) and large TV room, plus living area on the ground floor with internet and couches. However, this hostel does have that sterile YHA feel to it, especially compared to the many homey hostels in New Zealand. It's also quite expensive compared to most of New Zealand's hostels for what you're getting. Lots of good Thai and Indian food within a one-block radius of the hostel.

5 Throughout my month in NZ this was probably one of the best hostels I stayed in. YHAs have a reputation of being slightly on the boring side - this hostel definitely wasn't. In fact out of all the hostels we stayed in in NZ YHAs were by far the nicest, cleanest hostels with the best facilities. The beds are very comfy with the biggest duvets which are amazing after living in sleeping bags for so long. The kitchen is massive and clean with loads of equipment to use. The lounge/tv room is also very big and ideal for relaxing. This was the last hostel I stayed in before heading back to the UK and was a good one to end the trip on - would definitely recommend it.

5 This was a great hostel, very clean, well equipped and a good communal area for chilling out in. And the best thing of all was they had DUVETS! We spent our last night in NZ here and were knackered and so completely thankful for a comfy bed and massive duvets to bury ourselves in. Had one of the best nights sleep of the whole trip here. This hostel is also very well located for the centre of Christchurch, hence the name! Pubs, cinemas, shops all in close proximity! One of the best hostels of the whole trip - thoroughly recommend this place. If you get chance walk down to the river avon and hire a canoe -its great fun, and then you can stroll through the botanic gardens to dry off!

4 Adequate, clean accommodation. The twin rooms are tiny. I definitely recommend the double en suite rooms. They have loads more space and are much more practical.

4 Good rooms with en suite bathrooms, although the shower was very small. Very clean kitchen. Location is excellent for city center and transit. Thoroughly recommended.

4 This is every bit as good as the other big YHA hostels in Wellington and Auckland. If you've already been to these you'll know what to expect. Staff could have been a bit better, though. They were not that helpful or even interested.

4 I was really impressed with the room and the bathroom here. There's a bar downstairs, which was really loud when I was trying to sleep. This place is in a great location — you couldn't ask for better.

4 The two kitchens were always clean and were both were huge. The communal areas were also big and tidy. The rooms were good with individual lights and comfortable beds!
