Hostelz.com's Review
With all the people, the environment, and activities at Sir Toby's Hostel, it is not a surprise that the hostel has the highest ratings; we expect that it will stay that way for a time to come.

The Location

On the other side of the river to the old town, but close to the trams to take you there, you will find Sir Toby's, nestled in among a more local feel than your average touristy locations. It will literally take you ten minutes on a tram to get to the downtown area or the local bus station, and you will find shops for food and other basic amenities around the area within walking distance to the hostel.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The rooms here at Sir Toby's have a rustic feel to them with heaps of space and super high ceilings. Because of this, you will find three-tiered bunk beds (if you plan on going out and getting really drunk while you are here, we highly recommend asking for a bunk bed that isn't on the very top!). Each of the bunk beds has three locking boxes, in which you can put your stuff and keep your valuables safe. There are multiple bathrooms on each level with the rooms and they are clean and have loads of space too.

Common Spaces

The largest and best area to hang out and meet people is in the lounge area downstairs in Sir Toby's Bar. Even if you aren't drinking in the bar, you can hang about here and chat with the staff and other guests, cook a meal in their kitchen, and relax. They also have theme nights of quizzes, movies, crepe nights, and occasionally they offer food for a cost as well. It has a super relaxed vibe and a really earthy feel to the rooms. Also upstairs in the reception area, you will find free-to-use computers (from which you can print things) and an array of other information on things to do in the area.

Summary

The staff here at Sir Toby's are super friendly and lovely people and they will help you with anything that you need during your stay including transport tickets for the local trams. This is an excellent hostel! Definitely stay here!

5   Nice hostel Overall good hostel, clean, friendly staff.  , age 32 ()
4   Pleasant Good amenities, helpful staff. Just down the street from the supermarket.  ()
4   Hostel with character, environmentally friendly, helpful staff good environmentally friendly hostel with strong character but if you don't like auto sensed lighting or reuse of old furniture, don't choose it. the staff (especially David) is helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. But the location is not good, it is not at the city centre, but tram station, supermarket and restaurants are nearby. the direction to the hostel is clearly given by the hostel.  ()
5   Terrific hostel! Fantastic hostel that has everything a traveler requires. The location is a bit out of the way but you avoid the typical overcrowding/tourist traps that are present near the old town. A supermarket, quick Asian food to go, ATM, and convenience store (with 1euro beers!) are nearby. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and went out of their way to help me with some money issues. I doubt many other hostels would be as kind or generous. The dorm rooms are spacious and you do not have to deal with the hassle of bunk beds. Also everything is cleaned at least once a day. The hostel also hosts activities such as BBQs, beer tasting, and pub crawls. The atmosphere is excellent here as well. I highly recommend Sir Toby's hostel.  , age 22, USA ()
1   Fraud Practices The hostel is offering lower rates as it wishes to charge and denies bookings. This illegal practices I even reported to the Czech Justice. So, there is noc limitation given here in the description, but actually you waste your money, if you book more than 5 nights. So be careful. The Hostel does not refund. And even I learned of other travelers I got acquainted in Prague, they took the same experience. This put a bad spotligt on wonderful Prague.  , Israel ()
5   Excellent Hostel Stayed here for 4 nights in November. The location wasn't perfect (it takes up to 20 minutes to reach the old town by public transport). But unless you are doing lots of bar hopping, this isn't an issue. Great rooms, individual beds (not bunk beds), private bathroom. The rooms were surprisingly really big. The bar/ lounge area downstairs is nice, and the beer is cheap and tasty! Recommend the buffet breakfast, the price is reasonable, and the offering is great. Staff were mostly pretty friendly too, most of whom were also backpackers. I would stay here again for sure.  , Britain ()
5   Great for anybody! Despite not being centrally-located, this hostel is fantastic. The staff were very helpful, and most of the people who roll through seemed to be really genuinely good people. It's not too difficult to get to the center of town either, and you get to experience a part of the city that's a bit away from the press of travelers. And plus, it's within walking distance of Cross Club, one of Prague's more interesting bars. Highly recommended.  , U.S.A. ()
4   Very nice hostel in a could-be-much-better location I stayed in a private two bed room by myself. An absolute steal at 38 USD/night. Cannot speak for the dorms. Pros: Room simply amazing. Antique furniture, good bed and pillow, no noise at all. Best sleep I've had in three months. Common areas also very classy. Nice kitchen. Cons: Location -- need a tram to get anywhere interesting, too far to walk. Lose a star for that. Tempted to take another star for the automatic timers on anything electrical. You can't charge your phone without staying in the room, and you can't take a shower without waving your hand around to get the lights back on. Stupid guys, come on. Conclusion: If you want a private room, go for it. If you're looking for a dorm you can probably do as well closer to the old town.  ()
