A friend and I came to this hostel in the beginning of our travels and it was the best place so far! We stayed there for two months and even returned after being away for two months! We did farm work and the same amount of partying to keep in balance. I would highly recommend this hostel! If you want to feel like being home, go! Marg and Ron will give you a wonderful time!

i was one of the first people ever to stay at this hostel, think it was in 2001, maybe '02, was a fantastic place and really enjoyed myself. the host family were absolutely brilliant and made me so welcome.

We think that this hostel was pretty good apart from some of the loud music that they played when we where trying to get to sleep. They where so rude they gave us ear plugs!!!

We stayed here for three months while cutting lettuce and absolutely loved it. Ron, Marg and family are great fun and always made us feel welcome. There is plenty of opportunity to mix, as there is always something going on, i.e. pool competitions and parties. All in all we loved Maffra and everything that came with it. Top notch!

I stopped off here on my way down the Prince's Highway. I had seen the address before leaving England. So glad I stopped here. Work is plentiful and Marg makes you feel well at home. You can go for walks or do nothing at all!! Makes a great place to gather your thoughts in peace.

This is wonderful. Real Australia with a smile on its face. Marg and the others are lovely people and the food is good, too. They will try and find you work but take your time and look around this area, it is so beautiful and beats Sydney any day.

This is THE place to be! I stayed there in February/March 2003 and had a brilliant time, although I didn't work much, but that was my own fault! Everything in the hostel is clean, and the beds are with real matrasses! The hosts (Marge, Ron and Tom) are the best hosts I ever had in aussie. This is a place where you'll feel really at home!!

I stayed at Cambrai Backpackers for two months and loved every minute of it - well apart from the vegi's. Marg, Ron and Tom are fantastic and the place wouldn't be the same without them. All they need to sort out now is more work to entice other backpackers to them.

Arguably the best hostel i've stayed at in Australia. No exaggeration.
