Hostelz.com's Review
Wanderers Hostel is an extremely social hostel, which has the feel of a shared villa among the palm trees. It's situated by the quiet Morjim Beach and is only a short motorbike ride away from the two main backpacker/hippie villages, Anjuna and Arambol. Expect to see some long-stayers here, as it's definitely a place where people are happy to almost live for the duration of their visa.

The Location

Although this hostel is still relatively near to the two biggest hangouts, they are certainly not within walking distance, so you will want to hire a motorbike to make the ten-minute rides. If coming from the airport or train station, tell your taxi driver to head to the Sea Horse Hotel or Laxmi Restaurant at Morjim -- they are two of the main places here, so they should know them. With the hotel on your left and the restaurant on your right, head down the road for a kilometer until you hit a T-junction and a Nanu Wines Store -- look straight across and you will see a large Wanderers Hostel sign high up and a dirt lane leading down to it.

Rooms and Bathrooms

Every spot in this place is decorated and furnished to a high standard. It's spotlessly clean and you will probably not find a comfier bunk bed in all your travels. Air conditioning is always on and there are twenty-four/seven hot showers. Wi-Fi is strong throughout but can sometimes cut out -- this is typical for this region of India, though. There's also secure lockers in all the rooms and plug sockets and reading lights for each bed.

Common Spaces

A large open-plan area contains loads of floor cushions for crashing out, a pool table, PC, sound system, and a selection of games for people to play. Outside, though, is where you will usually see people hanging out and drinking. There's a row of pub-garden-like tables, hammocks, and a large open space where the owner sometimes gets a small game of cricket going. There's also a well-fitted communal kitchen and a selection of bread, eggs, jam, tea, and coffee to cook yourself up a free breakfast in the morning.

Summary

This is definitely a party hostel where everything is set up to meet people. It's clean, modern, and has a fantastic owner who gets involved with the guests. If a negative had to be picked out, it would be that it's quite hard to escape the social scene here due to the layout -- there is always the beach five minutes away, though, if you want complete peace.
