Hostelz.com's Review
HI - Jasper Hostel is a really great place to stay and it backs right onto Whistlers Mountain and some amazing hiking in the area.

The Location

Located a ten-minute drive out of Jasper town along the road to the tramway up Whistlers Mountain is the HI - Jasper. Unlike most of the other HIs around this area, this one is not a wilderness camp, but fully equipped with all of the amenities you will need for your stay in Jasper with electricity, a kitchen, hot water, and showers. If you don't have a car with you, the hostel does a shuttle transfer between the hostel and the town for a cost. Otherwise, with a car it is easy to get to and with plenty of parking.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The rooms are in the downstairs part of the building and you will find all of the co-ed dorm beds scattered around one giant room. There are female-only dorm rooms too. The beds are super comfortable to sleep in and they have boxes of extra blankets that you can grab if you get cold. The lights go out after 11 p.m. so that people can get sleep in the room. There are gender-separate bathrooms that are super spacious and have multiple showers and toilets. They are kept clean and are nice.

Common Spaces

The largest common space is in the upstairs dining room and kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped with everything that you could need to cook up a feast and there are multiple stove tops so there isn't a fight to use the kitchen. The dining room is equipped with books in a book exchange and board games to play, along with all kinds of information on daily things to do around the area, hiking information, and weather conditions as well as travel brochures. The upstairs kitchen is the best place in the hostel to get Wi-Fi and if you don't have a device to do this they have a computer that you can use also. Downstairs they also have a television room where you can sit and chill out on one of the couches.

Summary

The hostel also has bike hire, which is great for the summer months to get around and see some of the amazing sights Jasper National Park has to offer. The staff here are super helpful and friendly and know lots about the area and what to do so they should be able to help you out in making your stay at Jasper one of the best ever!
