Run by ex-backpackers for backpackers - a homely, clean and spacious lodge with everything you need. Chilled out atmosphere with funky music playing, big open and sunken fire with surrounding "love-pit" for hanging out in/watching movies/making friends, internet kiosks and WiFi (first 15 minutes free), free pool table, high-definition Freeview TV. Newly refurbished and fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher so you can save money by self-catering. 24 hour showers with gas hot water.
All bedrooms are tastefully decorated and warm with night-store heaters, storage space, lockers, clothes rail and beds comfortable and fully made up. Room options are private double or twin rooms, or shared/dorm rooms that sleep 5-7 people. Or, if you want your own space book into the fabulous Pinedale Apartment...sleeps 4 people with 1 double room and 1 twin room, spacious sized lounge, stylish full kitchen with gas hobs, dishwasher, oven, full sized fridge, private garden, gas hot water, WiFi, TV, video plus library and separate storage room.
If you don't have your own car then Pinedale is definitely the place to stay for a ski holiday as we'll take you to and from the ski fields such as nearby Mt Hutt, club fields of Mt Olympus, Porters, Mt Cheeseman (additional charges apply) to name a few. If you're travelling in a group we could pick you up from Christchurch.
Pinedale's only minutes walk away from ski shops, supermarkets, cafes, bars, restaurants, i-Site visitor centre and an art house movie theatre, Cinema Paradiso.
Check out time is 10am and you can check in after 12noon. Owners/manager's live on site and office is open from 8am - 9pm daily.

Friendly hosts and warm atmsphere rarely experienced whilst I packpacked around the globe. Was the best hostel we stayed at in NZ by far. If you like a cozy, friendly atmosphere, stay at Pinedale. If not go elsewhere!
