3 I had a weird experience with this hostel in the summer of 2004. My friend and I arrived in Canterbury. It was raining and we did not have a place to stay. We called this hostel and the hostess was very welcoming and told us to come right over. The place is very cute and they make you breakfast in the morning. I must emphasize that it is really quite a lovely place. However -- my friend and I had a run-in with the hostess who got angry at us because she thought that we kept our room too messy and that we returned to the hostel during the day and woke her up. (Both of these were not things that we had expected to be problems.) She was unexpectedly angry and really let us have it! Plus, she has a strict curfew. The host and hostess (an Irish couple who are also the owners) love to chat with their visitors. Just be sure that you find out about all of the expectations up front, should you decide to stay there.
