The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, and the place is cheap and well located. English books for sale. I did see a cockroach, but generally the place seemed clean. Cute cats too! — Woody, UK (2007-05-21)

Unless you're a very wealthy person, you won't find a cleaner, cheaper, more hospitable place in Tegucigalpa. The location is five blocks from the city center and is one of the safest parts of the city. Tom, the owner, has lived in Honduras for twenty years and is a gruff, but well-meaning fount of knowledge. On any given night, the place is stocked with Brits, Australians, Norwegians, Swiss, or Germans planning out trips to Copan or the Bay Islands. The bar is reasonably priced, but, more importantly, it is safe. — Red (2006-12-11)

haven't seen any rats or cockroaches. there's a cat though, although she did lose her kitten last night. good location, far superior than across the river, bar seems ok. thumbs up. — harry (2006-11-27)

Dangerous location, infested with lice, roaches, and rats. No water, exorbitant bar and food prices. Dangerous area, owner is unbelievably arrogant and inexperienced in Honduras. — Palmer Bodine (2006-05-22)

Great place. Just be careful not to use up the water; the city is rationed and doesn't supply it. The dorms are ok. It has a great bar and is downtown, a few blocks from the main square. Tom the owner is cool and will help you organize your stuff. :) — Eduardo (2005-06-20)
