5 A great hostel for the city dwellers to destress.
I stayed in June of 2007. Great farmhouse setting in the grounds of Malabar State Park, which is a working farm and park combined. The host is very friendly and engaging with conversation. She is a treasure for sure. You get a feel for how people lived decades ago and I loved that. Plenty to do in the area from day journeys to Amish country to hiking, visiting farm animals or even helping out on the farm! I attended a square dance in the evening at the Big Barn right on the farm. If you're the metro type, come experience the country and find simple fun things to do.

4 Clean and charming FarmHouse in a State Park.
I was there 27 April 2008. I had a great time there. The Hostel is cozy, clean, and has still the charm of a FarmHouse. Barbara (who runs the Hostel) is just fantastic and very nice and she knows everything about the area.

5 This is a unique hostel experience. The hostel is an old Sears House, mail ordered and assembled during the time the Hollywood writer Louis Bromfield was building his estate. Bromfield's famly lived there while the mansion was being built. The hostel is clean and pleasant. The mansion next door is quite an experience. It is like walking into New York circa 1933. The last time we stayed here they had a square dance in the barn for locals. People came in pickup trucks from extremely small towns in the region. This was authentic old Americana that is very hard to find these days.

4 I've been here a few times before and always found it to be very charming. The mystique of Bogart and Bacall getting married at this area adds to the charm. I'll be going to this hostel yet again to take part in the Shauck Area Bicycle Century. I encourage any overseas tourists passing through to spend a couple relaxing days in the countryside at this hostel. Be sure to read author Louis Bromfield's book, Malabar Farm and escape into the authors mind while he lived in this house years ago.

4 This is a fun weekend experience, living on a farm. Our Cub Scouts enjoy it very much! The hostel is cozy and clean.

5 This is a delightful rural hostel in a beautiful valley in the center of Ohio. The hostel is clean and pleasant, and draws primarily local guests. It's close to good hiking and recreation in Mohican State Forest, about an hour from Columbus and a little bit more than that from Cleveland and Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
