The owners are not too friendly, but the hostel is nice and clean, and you'll like their dog! There are two buildings, one is recently built and seems not finished yet. The main building is beautiful, absolutely clean and quiet. The kitchen, the bathrooms, the common area, and the dorms are beautiful. If you bring your own sleeping bag or need private room, you'll stay in the newer building, which isn't preferred. It really doesn't look like the main building and has no real kitchen either. Also you must go to the backyard, it has the most beautiful view!
The dorms sleep up to four people. The hostel is not too busy, but a reservation is recommended. They may ask you to send a check by mail as a deposit (not all the time).
If you are not driving, you'll have some difficulties getting there. It's located about three miles from the main road and there is no public transportation. But if you go to Alaska, you're better off with a car in most areas anyway.
