3  So chilled im going back i first visited with a mate in April 2010 who had been before and it was everything i expected, you know how it goes, you get what you pay for. and believe it or not i totally enjoyed my stay there -- it was relaxed, and friendly, and out host Tim was a really great and genuine guy. If you do get a chance to visit you will see for yourself but as with anywhere it has its good points which you wont see if you dont stay. Go on, check it out, what have you got to lose. im going back there with the same mate (Marks third time) on Friday 12 oct for the weekend, because we love it.  , Manchester ()
3  Ok -- nice and cheap! We've used the campsite here several times and it seems to have changed hands every time. However, the prices are consistent, as is the quality of the field you camp in. First time we came, it was fantastic, really traditional looking pub with brass. Now it seems to be a bit of a locals bar with scribbled messages on the ceiling but they're friendly enough and it provides a decent place to get some kip. Wouldn't suggest food any more -- it's all odd stuff you wouldn't expect to find in a pub -- like olive salad and pork burgers (where's the steak and ale pie!?) but they made us and our dogs welcome and we keep going back! Can't comment on bunkhouse or caravans but the showers are warm and fairly clean for a campsite and all included in the price (don't have to pay extra like some).  , British ()
1  The biggest dump I have ever seen My boyfriend and I decided to go to Snowdon for a couple of days last weekend but we didn't want to spend too much (big mistake). I came across this place on the internet and judging by the website www.thesnowdoninn.co.uk/index.html I thought this could be the place for us (another big mistake). "Cheap and Cheerful" -- more like cheap and nasty! "What we offer is simple, clean and probably what you'd expect as a rufty tufty outdoorsy type. But you also get a warm welcome, a great location, fantastic view, and a great pub on tap." What a joke! Simple yes, clean defiantly not! Rufty tufty is putting it mildly -- The door of the caravan was practically hanging off and the pub itself was like an old mans social club with sticky carpets, peeling paint and a really bad smell! The view they speak of is about a mile down the road -- the actual view from the pub is of a main road and a grubby field. I had already paid a deposit of £40 which covered half the total cost of the weekend (four nights). We arrived, looked at the caravan, popped into the pub, stared at each other in disbelief, and made a quick exit! In fact you might even be able to see the skid marks on the driveway still! We went to Caernarfon library and managed to find a youth hotel in Bangor -- Thank god!! I may have lost my £40 deposit but I would have paid an additional £100 not to stay in that hole! Later on I thought about why would anyone stay there at all, then it dawned on me, what an easy way to make a bit of cash -- Get people to pay a deposit, when they turn up and they're gobsmacked at the state of the place they leg it ASAP! £40 easily made. Great scam! All I can say is please don't stay there! It's an awful place and I wouldn't have been surprised if we'd ended up being sacrificed in some weird local ritual -- It was rather creepy!  , England ()
