Excellent location -- good atmosphere We camped here rather than staying in one of the rooms -- rather regrettable as using our 20 euro 'two person tent' for the first time, we found there was barely space for one person, never mind two people plus backpacks. The staff were very helpful to us and made this situation a lot bearable (storing out backpacks), and despite the huge numbers that visit Pula and this hostel, were always very welcoming and enthusiastic. The beach is a stones throw from the hostel (used by locals too), and climbing out of the claustrophobic, sweaty tent and jumping into the cool sea at 0700 was one of the real pleasures of our holiday. There is a bar, benches by the seafront, and excellent pizzas can be ordered, and the other school groups simply enjoying themselves on holiday gave the place a nice atmosphere. The hostel loses one star for the lack of toilets and showers (maybe there were others that I didn't find, but three unisex showers and toilets for so many people are not enough) and the smell was terrible. However, if you can handle that, then the hostel is very much recommended. — Jim Hart , Netherlands (2010-07-14) This hostel is on a nice beach, however, it is at the end of a dark path-like road, which is a little scary if you are walking alone in the dark. I had a hard time finding this hostel, so be prepared to look for it. This is an average hostel, rather clean, and an ok shower. The beach is the best part of the stay here. — Mandy (2006-12-07) Brilliant location, you won't find better if you're after a relaxing time. It's a long way from town but the bus is good and the walk is nice. The food is awful and there's only one shower per floor. Watch out for dirty old men on the surrounding beaches. — NZ (2005-10-02) Great as a retreat in summer: outdoor meals, water activities, and cycling at nearby nature park. The outdoor breakfast is generous for Southern Europe. Staff were professional and helpful. Although I was there in January and it was too cold for swimming it still was a nice place to go. The location was a bit far from the city center (25-minute walk) but most of the hostels in Croatia are not located in the center anyway. The showers were ok. Overall it's a good place to stay, especially in summer with its own private beach. And they have trampolines, which are heaps of fun!!! — Anonymous (2005-02-13) Really nice place. It's next to a nice rocky beach with beautiful surroundings. The staff were exceptionally polite and didn't get worked up even because of big problems. This place had good and clean rooms with fine beds and a good social area outside. Bring your own booze, though.
The only negative thing I can say is that we had two British beer bellies in our room who snored so loudly that people in other rooms were going crazy. My friend is renowned for being a snore machine but he was like a baby compared to these guys. — Óskar (2004-11-28)
