Location	• We are located at Carrera 67 No. 48D-63, just behind the EXITO supermarket of the Avenida Colombia, Near the Stadium. Our phone number is 260-2805. Remember to dial 57 for Colombia and 4 for Medellin. • We are also located 3 blocks away from the SURAMERICANA Metro station from there, just ask where the Exito is, go to the back of the supermarket and you will find us. (It is the orange house with a lot of flags, but no sign, just a little one.) ... • From terminal Norte (bus station) • Take the metro. The northern terminal is right next to the metro station CARIBE. From there its 1,300 pesos each one, and stops to metro station SURAMERICANA and the hostel is a 3 BLOCK walk from there... • The taxi from terminal Norte it´s around $5.000 pesos, Tell the driver to take "La Avenida Colombia and go to the back of the supermarket Exito de Colombia • From terminal de Sur (bus station) • * Take the metro. The SUR terminal is near to the metro station POBLADO. From there its 1,300 pesos each one, and stops to metro station SURAMERICANA and the hostel is a 3 BLOCK walk from there... • * The taxi it´s around $7.000 pesos, Tell the driver to take "La 65 and la Avenida Colombia and go to the back of the supermarket Exito de Colombia" • From Rio Negro airport "Medellin's main international airport" "JOSE MARIA CORDOVA" • * Take a bus to the city centre, we are a few blocks from the downtown the cost it´s $5,000 pesos. from there you can catch the metro from the Estacion PARQUE BERRIO to Suramericana ($1300 pesos) or take a taxi.... cost 3,600 pesos (minimum charge). • * Take a taxi on your own direct to hostel.... cost $45,000 pesos • * Take a shared taxi to San Diego.... cost 11,000. Then you will need to get another taxi cost 4,500 pesos to the hostel or take the metro station EXPOSICIONES. From there its 1,300 pesos each one, and stops to metro station SURAMERICANA and the hostel is a 3 BLOCK walk from there... • From local city airport (the local city airport caters for flights to and from the pacific coast and coffee region like Manizales) • Next to the southern bus terminal. Best way is to take a taxi. The taxi it´s around $7.000 pesos, Tell the driver to take "La 65 and la Avenida Colombia and go to the back of the supermarket Exito de Colombia"

Be aware -- your money could disappear
This hostel has a serious security problem. There is no safebox. Recommendation of the staff -- take your belongs with you if you go out (funny). So the administration do not mind about, also (as they told me) it wasn't the first time that things get robbed. Also the wash service is from extremely poor quality -- it will be better to do it yourself or you will pay for nothing. (And some of my clothes disappeared as well).

Unsafe
We stayed in Palm Tree Hostal for four nights. Friday is the free BBQ night, however it seems that when people join the BBQ they get robbed in their rooms (or latest when everybody goes out for a drink). Had a double room and the door was locked. When we came back we had to realize that a certain amount of money was missing. To make it more difficult to realize the longfingers did not take all the money and neither notebooks. We are sure that some people don't even realize that they have been robbed as nobody counts the money exactly. But we did as we had to go to the ATM the day after again. In our opinion the only people who could have done this is somebody of the staff. As only they do have a key for all rooms. Another longfinger would have taken everything in the room as he wouldn't care! In addition another guy in a dormitory got robbed as well. The hostel lacks of security as they don't provide lockers. Moreover the double rooms are the smallest rooms we ever had on our long trip. These rooms do not deserve the title "double" but shoebox.

Excellent! The people who run the hostel are very nice and kindly.
From far one of the best Hostels in Colombia. The people who run the hostel are very nice and kindly. They always give you directions and advices for everything you need. They also organize events and parties. The place is nice, you feel almost as home, and the dorms are very comfortable. the owners are nice and help you in everything you need.

We stayed here for ten days in January 2003. Great atmosphere, cheap beer, barbecues, hammocks, music, and a great bar. The owner Sebastian is a star. And the Exito supermarket is such a treat. What a great hostal in a great location.

Great place. It has a good atmosphere and it's not expensive at all. It has helpful staff, it's clean, safe, and in an excellent location.

This is a really friendly hostel. It has got everything you need! The only problem is that it's quite a distance from the "Zona Rosa."

This place was top-notch. It had cheap beer, eight movie channels, cushions and hammocks, Internet, and glamours walking in all day and night!!
