Hostelz.com's Review
Casa Blanca is owned and run by some lovely Israeli people. You will find them to be super helpful and friendly during your stay here. Most of the guests that stay here tend to be Israeli as well, so there is a lot of Hebrew, Spanish, and English spoken around the hostel.

The Location

If you are arriving in San Pedro La Laguna by boat from Panajachel or the other surrounding towns on the Pana dock, you go up the hill, turn right, and walk a couple of hundred metres. You will find the Casa Blanca hostel located right on the water, with a prime location for chilling out by the lake or swimming but not too far away from all of the happenings in the main strip. Most of the bars and restaurants within San Pedro are only a ten- to fifteen-minute walk away from here.

Rooms and Bathrooms

Casa Blanca is a smaller hostel with some dorm rooms and some private rooms. The setup is such that all of the rooms centre around the main garden area where people can hang out. The beds are super comfortable and have pretty good quality mattresses and linen. The bathrooms are separate from this and you have a block with separate toilets and showers that are in good condition and are cleaned daily. The showers are also have hot water, which is a bonus.

Common Spaces

There is a dining area, which has a heap of tables and chairs; they serve amazing food here from the restaurant too with a Mediterranean feel to it. It is well priced and super good quality. You can hang around and chill out here, play cards, or have a drink -- or you can go down on the lawn area by the lake where you can relax, take in some sun, and go for a swim overlooking the spectacular view of the volcanic mountains in the area.

Summary

The buildings are modern, clean, and the place has a super relaxed and refreshing vibe to it. Throw in the spectacular lake view, and you are getting good quality for your dollar. This is a great place to stay in San Pedro La Laguna.
