Hostelz.com's Review
If you are looking for a bed in a great part of Warsaw, then The Warsaw Hostel is the place for you. If you're looking to meet people in a social atmosphere and have a good experience, go elsewhere.

The Location

The location of this hostel is the best thing going for it. It is situated just off Nowy Swait, a main street in Warsaw. Having said that, it can also be noisy at night. To get to this hostel from the bus station, take the metro from the station (there is only one line) to Centrum; then it is just a short walk to the hostel. Otherwise take the metro to Plac Wilsona and change to the 116 bus headed to Wilanòw. Get off at the stop Ordynacka, which is not too difficult because a lot of the buses have a screen detailing what the next station is. It is then a short walk to the hostel.

If you are taking the train and arriving at Central Station, follow the directions provided by the Hostel -- that is, take the 175 or 128 bus and again get off at Ordynacka. Otherwise it would not be a difficult walk, although it might take a little time. The hostel itself is located in a building shared by a number of businesses, which feels strange upon entry. Go up the stairs to the first floor and turn right. Walk all the way to the end of the corridor, and you will find the hostel. After 10 p.m. the main door to the building is locked, so just ring the bell and wait for a member of staff to come and let you in.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The rooms are big and spacious. There are lockers provided for your valuables, however a key will cost you a deposit. Linen is provided and the beds are very comfortable. The showers are decent, with hot water and good water pressure. Unfortunately there is nothing in the shower cubicle but a number of hooks to hang your belongings.

Common Spaces

The common spaces in this hostel are dull; this pretty much reflects upon the whole atmosphere of the hostel. It is antisocial and difficult for individual travelers to meet people. The kitchen is small with a hob, microwave, and fridge. They also have a dishwasher for those who continually refuse to wash their dishes after use. The dining area is cramped, awkward, and uncomfortable. In the small common room, there is a lounge and a television. Washing is available for a price. Breakfast is not included, which again impacts on the potential for this hostel to be social. There are some brochures available for tours and activities.

Summary

This hostel is fine if you're after basic and comfortable accommodations.

5   Very good location, facility (enough showers, toilets), cleanliness. Staffs (Michael and the girl -- sorry I forgot her name) are also very helpful and friendly. If I visit Warsaw next time, I will stay at Warsaw hostel again.  ()
