Buzios is 9km peninsula with 23 beaches and hundred bars. A Brazilian paradise where fishermen share the sea with cruise ships.

As you know a Hostelling International youth hostel is your best option to every destination. Our Buzios hostel is a great cozy and very well located place. It has spacious clean rooms at a great price with fan or air conditioning.

Buzios HI Hostel is located between Geriba (700m) and Manguinhos (400m) beaches at Main Avenue’s corner close to all transport, stores and supermarkets.

The rooms are spacious and clean (cleaned daily), and each room has its own bathroom with hot water.

Breakfast, bed linen and a locker are included for all guests.

At the beaches or at the city, the atmosphere is wonderful, breathes a sweet and happy harmony, reaching peace with the spirit and the world. • The beauty of the 26 beaches, the charm of the old fishing village, the typical restaurants, famous boutiques, shows, the movie festival, the famous Street of the Rocks (nocturnal meeting point), its nature wasteland and remainder of the Atlantic Forest, everything makes of Búzios a very special place • How to Get there • Búzios is located at 105 miles NE from the city of Rio de Janeiro. Many international and Brazilian airlines offer non-stop flights to the modern and busy Rio de Janeiro International Airport. From this Gateway you can reach Búzios either by air, sea or by road. In all cases you will be very welcome. Below you will find information how to get into this peninsula and how to move there. • I - By Car (From Rio de Janeiro to Buzios) • Approximately one hour and fifty minutes from Rio de Janeiro. After passing the toll on the Rio-Niterói bridge, take a left in the direction of Rio Bonito. Soon after arriving at Rio Bonito, take a right onto "Via Lagos" in the direction of Região dos Lagos (Lakes Region). Stay on this highway. When it ends, continue more 4 miles until reaching a large Ipiranga gas station at the entrance of São Pedro da Aldeia. Take a left at the gas station and then immediately turn right onto RJ-106 in the direction of Macaé/Búzios. Some 8 miles later you will come to the "Até que Enfim" gas station, where you will turn off to the right. The prices vary according to the inn or hotel, but rates can be obtained when booking your reservation. Normally transfers are in luxury air-conditioned cars at R$ 120.00 per person or in vans at R$ 70.00 per person. (Average prices, round-trip, leaving from Rio de Janeiro). For more information please consult you hotel. • II - By Bus • From Rio to Búzios - direct: • The company Viação 1001 offers daily departures from Rodoviária Novo Rio (Novo Rio Bus Terminal - Rio) at the following schedule: • Leaving Rio: 6:30, 9:15, 11:15, 13:15, 15:15, 17:15 and 19:30h. • Leaving Búzios: 7:00, 9:00, 11:00, 13:00, 15:00, 17:00 and 19:00h. • Fare: From R$ 17.00 to R$ 25.00 (schedules and fares supplied by Viação 1001) • Usefull Telephones: • Viação 1001: 55-21-2516-1001 0300-313-1001 (only in Brazil) • Rod. Novo Rio (Rio Bus Terminal): 55-21-2291-5151 • Website: www.autoviacao1001.com.br • TIPS: • You can buy tickets paying by creditcard using the phone 0300-313-1001 (only in Brazil) • In periods of high season (from December to March) and holidays it is convenient to buy your tickets in advance. • Always confirm these schedules and fares with "Viação 1001". • NOTE: To get to the Rodoviária Novo Rio (Novo Rio Bus Terminal) from the Rio de Janeiro International Airport, you can take taxis (about R$ 30,00) or Viação Real air-conditioned busses, with several departures all day. • From São Paulo to Búzios - direct: • Departures Fridays at 10:44 pm, with return departure on Sundays at 9:30 pm. • Fare: R$ 45.12 - Viação 1001 • Alternate Route - from Cabo Frio: • Viação 1001 offers hourly departures from Rio de Janeiro to Cabo Frio (30 km from Búzios) where Viação Salineira does the transportation to Búzios every day with departures every 20 minutes. You can also take a taxi from Cabo Frio to Búzios for approximately US$ 25.00. • III - By Air • The Umberto Modiano Airport (Buzios) operates with a 4265 foot x 100 foot wide illuminated paved runway and can receive corporate jets, Fokker 27 and Fokker 50 aircraft. There are presently no regular flights to Búzios. • IV - By Sea • Marina Porto Búzios (+55 22/2629-1238) and Búzios Yacht Club offer sophisticated harbors to moor your boat safely if you decide to go by sea. You can also have nautical services at Porto Veleiro (+55 22/2623-2470) in Ossos Beach. • The Nautical Chart for Búzios is 1504. The wind comes at about 18km/h in most of the time from the northeast. • Cruises • During High Season (from December to March) some international Cruise Lines have Búzios in their destination. The ships usually stay only one day in Búzios and the passengers can take a small tour in the city. • Como Llegar • En coche Desde Rio va a Niterói y a la salida de el puente - peaje R$2 - tome por la izquierda para "Região dos Lagos - Cabo Frio". Siga siempre por la carretera convirtiendo a la derecha al alcanzar Itaboraí (mas o menos 30 minutos) - siempre dirección Cabo Frio - cerca de 30 min más alcanzará Rio Bonito y la entrada a la derecha para el litoral - siempre "Região dos Lagos" y "Cabo Frio". El peaje en esa caretera es mas caro desde los viernes 12:00 hasta los lunes 12:00. Después de 27km llegará al litoral y un poquito mas a la entrada del pueblo de "São Pedro D'Aldeia" - una estación de servicio Atlantic, es el momento de olvidarse de Cabo Frio y tomar a la izquierda para Búzios/Macaé. En pocos minutos se ve otra estacion de servicio con una torre que dice "Até Q'Enfim" (finalmente) - es la entrada para Buzios a la derecha. El paraiso esta cerquita. • Atención: por todas las rutas hay control electronico de velocidade y las multas son altissimas! • En bus La empresa Viação 1001 tiene 7 salidas diarias desde Rio de Janeiro (Rodoviária Novo Rio) a Búzios. Algunos buses con aire acondicionado (marcados con *). • Llegando a Búzios és mui facil encuentrarnos: los buses pasan por la avenida principal en la esquina de nuestra calle, pidale al motorista - no se preocupe, es usual, para bajar en la esquina siguiente al "Shopping 5000".
