5  This was quite an experience! It is an organic farm that is run by a bunch of vegetarian hippies! Definitely like nothing I had ever experienced. There are cows, goats, and chickens on the organic farm. There is a wide variety of the rooms in which you can choose to stay. When I reached D Acres, I was nearing the end of my trip up the east coast, so I opted for the cheapest accommodation -- a futon cushion on the floor for 10 bucks! I slept in the exercise room, by myself, which was sort of nice. They offer breakfast and dinner every night, for 6 bucks -- all organic food, six kinds of pancakes in the morning. Everyone is really nice, but they obviously live a certain way so if you visit D Acres, be prepared to adjust your lifestyle for a few days. The shower was huge, the toilet was an eco-friendly toilet (it didn't flush -- it was kind of like an outhouse, except it was in the house). You simply poured sawdust in there after you used the bathroom! Like I said, quite an experience -- I would do it again in an instant! Rumney is close to Mt. Washington and other attractions, so if you have a car, it is fine to stay there, but the town itself has nothing to offer (I don't even recall a single restaurant. pretty much in the middle of nowhere).  ()
5  I stayed their 2 years ago, 2004 in October. The place was great, people and staff were great. The shower was huge. 4 or 5 shower heads.  ()
