The Hostelz.com Review
Pujangga Homestay is a small and home-like hostel centrally located in Kuala Lumpur. Although there is no airport pick up, the hostel is easy enough to find whether by the KLIA Ekspres and monorail (Bukit Bintang Station) or from the bus station, about a 5 minutes walk away.

Upon arrival, ring the bell. The gate is locked at all times, however, there is no indication that it is a rough area. The owner, Anuar, is friendly and welcoming. After a short check-in, you are shown to your room. There are four rooms -- a single, two doubles and a six-bed dormitory. All have air conditioning and are clean.

Breakfast is included in the price so you can help yourself to beverages, toast and jam, cereals, and fruit. There are also in also a small cooking area. The small but social lounge has cable TV and approximately 100 DVDs if you just wish to relax. Provided as well is internet access (4RM per hour) and very cheap overseas calls.

The hostel itself is situated in the 'Golden Triangle' and is approximately a 10 minute walk from the world famous Petronas Towers and gardens. There are several restaurants behind the hostel, each one providing a flavour from a different country -- France, Japan, Germany, and Brazil included. There are also several bars and shopping complexes within walking distance. Ask the well informed staff for a map and they'll provide you with a map and send you to the best locations.

To summarize, this is a small friendly hostel that is well run and close to the best that Kuala Lumpur has to offer.

Excellent value. Warm cosy place. Friendly and helpful staff
Newly renovated and a new wing of rooms added. Beautifully decorated with nice lounge area to relax. Six new showers with hot water have been added. The place is very clean and the nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Very recommended hostel -- free breakfast, cheap laundry -- what more to ask for?

Absolutely awful hotel, me and my girlfriend left this hotel at 1 a.m. in the morning after being harassed by the manager Anuar as he was trying to overcharge us. me and my girlfriend left, when we got outside the Manager Anuar Hamid threw a glass bottle at my girlfriend which hit her leg. we are currently taking this homestay to court. disgusting hotel. i would never recommend it to anyone. stay well away.

I am totally impress when i look at their homepage. i thought when i arrive there i will be greet by warm and friendly staff. yeah. their motto was totally 100% right -- expect the unexpectected. they're rude and not welcoming at all. actually, i am on the inspection for the hotel (low category hotel) and i am planning to promote the best of the best hotel or hostel to be promoted out. but after what i have experience i will always say no to Pujangga Homestay. So rude and no manners at all.

Stayed there with my girlfriend shehara on our first backpackers journey in KL. Very cleen & well run. The Owners are very friendly and will provide you with maps & directions to where ever you may want to go (even to the top of the road). The best factor is that it's central - all of KLs hotspots from the beech club to zook are just a walk away.would recomend it to anyone.

I have stayed here twice and if Anuar has availability I hope to stay here again. It's central but quiet, clean and tidy and offers a very relaxed atmosphere within a very busy city. I thoroughly recommend Pujangga as an ideal place to stay in Kuala Lumpur.

I stayed at the Pujanngga the very first night of my backpacking year out. I loved it so much that I stay there every time I'm in Kuala Lumpur now. None of the other hostels in KL compare for comfort, friendliness and interesting people. Plus, the price is very reasonable and the free breakfast is always great.

Truly fantastic hostel, very homely and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble to the guys there. They'll give you anything from advice on the sights of Kuala Lumpur to air ticket booking! A must-visit hostel.
