One of the best hostels in Buenos Aires -- good location I don't write about hostels unless they really stand out. This place has one of the friendliest vibes I've seen in twenty years of hosteling. They get it. Huge common areas create a social atmosphere, great for trading travel tips with fellow backpackers. They have hostel-style dorm rooms, private rooms, and two full apartments to rent. — Miguel , USA (2008-01-29)

Amazing This Hostel is the best in Buenos Aires. You are going to meet a lot of cool people, the staff is amazing, is really friendly and helpful, and they make you feel comfortable in anytime. there is a cool terrace where they have a barbecue on saturdays, which is a good start to the night! i really recommend it! you will enjoy your stay there. — Nath McCartney , British (2008-01-21)

Quiet, funky, and spacious I stayed at Palermo House twice in the end of 2005 and in feb. of 2006 and i loved it! The owner Emilliano is an excellent guy if you just get to know him, i would consider to stay there again just to hang out with him! But the hostel itself is beautiful and in a great location, the couple rooms are spacious and cool and it's the perfect place if you just want to chill! by the way there was always hot water when i lived there! — Mette Keinicke , Danish (2007-11-22)

I stayed here for a week and a half. There are some really cool people who work here apart from the owner who is really cold with you and can at times be abrupt -- bit of an a-hole really. The area is packed with trendy (and quite simply amazing) restaurants, and is seriously the best area to stay in (safe, clean, amenities, good chilled out experience). One or two of the bathrooms are a bit moldy and need a scrub, but on the whole the place is clean and interesting. It's almost more like a set of cool apartments over a double story setting. The best part about this hostel is that there aren't alot of people staying here -- just enough to get to know each other and maybe have the odd musical rooms syndrome. (Watch this space though, the cold owner has just put more bunks in all the rooms so might want to squeeze people to chase the extra peso). — Adrian (2006-05-10)

I really liked this hostel, so much so that the whole time I was here I never left it. — Ben (2005-03-07)

I like the beautiful building but I'm dubious about the atmosphere. It's not so much unfriendly but you find yourself feeling intrusive. There was also no hot water. I like the hammock, though! — Anonymous (2005-03-02)
I have recently visited this hostel and although the actual place was lovely there was no hot water, and after speaking to others I found out that there never is any. The people who work there are lovely. However, I cannot say the same for the owner, who is very unfriendly and often makes you feel unwelcome. — Anonymous (2005-02-28)

I have never stayed at Palermo House, but the people who work here are fantastic! It is worth checking out just to meet the sweet people, especially EMILIANO! =) — Vicky (2004-10-22)

I stayed in this hostel for almost three months and it is in a great location. Whilst I was there, there were some problems with hot water and blocked toilets, etc., but nothing that you don't tend to find in most hostels. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and is generally comfortable and clean. The building work that woke me up most mornings during my stay has resulted in the most beautiful bookshop next door to the hostel. And there are millions of fantastic restaurants and bars just a stone's throw away. — Anonymous (2004-10-04)
