Very Good
I've stayed at this hostel several times. All good experiences. It is clean and quiet. I shared a room with people once, had no problems, but the other times I had my own room with a friend or two which is always the best way. (basically I'm saying I never had anything stolen here.) It is cute, the staff were helpful and friendly, and it is convenient, walking distance to the bus stop and beach, and a longish walk/short cab to the movie theater and some eateries. It's also right next to a Brazillian bbq resturant, but I've never eaten there. I would give this four-and-a-half stars.

One of the nicest hostels
I stayed in this hostel for three nights, and I can only say, that it is one of the nicest hostels I have ever visited. Clean and comfortable rooms to a quite cheap price. Friendly and helpful staff. The hostel is located central and very close to the bus station -- great for those arriving by bus, who want a low budget vacation.

No complaints
Very friendly staff, some of the cleanest dorm bathrooms I've ever seen, air conditioned (or with a strong fan at least) rooms, decent beds, cool little main lobby area, a cute dog that lives on premises and pretty cheap. The only con would be that it's located in Eilat's hostel ghetto which is a little bit of a hike from the beach, but so are most hostels in Eilat.

Excellent
I've just spent five days staying at the hostel and I found the standard of the hostel excellent, my room was spotless. And witnessing the effort put into cleaning the rooms, I can see why! I had my own bathroom, fridge, and TV. You can do your laundry and there's a decent sized kitchen. Internet access and a drinks fridge in the reception. The staff and management were extremely friendly. Arron, Ruth, and le'ron are lovely people. The hostel is located in a great district of Eilat with cafes, bakeries, and local restaurants all around. For anyone who wants a great value stay in Eilat, this is it.

Excellent from Start to Finish
I have stayed at dozens if not hundreds of hostels in the past seven years, and Biet H'arava is one of the best. It's clean, efficient, well located, and as cheap as can be. Yes it's basic (no breakfast or free towels), but if you're looking for a private room for two people look no further than Room 13. We stayed for three nights and the fantastic staff at the hostel was able to help us with everything from frantic phone calls back home, to internet access, and all the rest. All in all, I'd love to stay at this hostel for the rest of my life, should I have the benefit to return to Eilat.

Before going to this hostel I viewed hostelz.com and the comments made by people who stayed there. According to the comments posted "the staff are very friendly," so that is what I was expecting -- Good customer service. Maybe there is new management; the comments posted on this website are from 2006 almost a year old, many things happen over a year. When I called the hostel to ask some questions the woman that answered wasn't so nice. The next day I arrive at night, the guy that was on the front desk doesn't have a clue about what customer service is all about. He didn't like the idea that I wanted to take a look at the room before agreeing to stay, aggressive attitude and making comments that weren't needed. I was very tired and didn't want to go around looking for another place to stay. It seems they have plenty of new people/customers staying so why bother to treat people how they deserve to be treated. They don't understand that for some people, me included, the service matters! Average rooms with small beds. Clean bathrooms and showers. Poor customer service. Next time I stay in Eilat I'll look for another place to stay.

My wife and I stayed here in April 2006. Excellent value. Superb facilities. Clean bathrooms and rooms. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They helped us sort out a problem we had with Avis car rental with numerous calls and faxes. We really appreciated the assistance from Eileen, Aaron and Yoni. This was the best hostel we stayed in during our two-week tour of Israel. No problems making a reservation over the phone.
