Very nice place friendly, clean, good price. Friendly staff always available. Very good breakfast. Close to supermarkets, cca 10 minutes from the beach. We spent five days in this hostel and we can recommend it. — Pedro , The Czech republic (2012-04-15)

Basically decent but some improvements could be made This is a decent hostel situated very close to Eilat centre with friendly staff. The rooms are clean but cramped and shabby; and definitely in need of refurbishment. The bathrooms are clean and feel like they have been recently renovated. There's a small but poorly equipped kitchen for guests. The common area has free wi-fi. An annoying feature is that you have to pay for luggage storage with coin operated lockers ... A bit mean spirited! — Martin , UK (2011-09-11)

Organized, friendly, clean, good price 24 hours reception and friendly staff always available. very clean hostel. excellent space out here and shady garden. close to supermarkets. a bit far from the beach. I spent five days in this fabulous hotel and recommend. — carla , portugal (2011-05-23)

Nice and friendly place to stay in Eilat We stayed in Arava Hostel in March, 2011. I would definitely recommend this place as it is cheap and nice, and the girl on the reception (I think her name is Shov if I got it right) is extremely pleasant and friendly. Clean double bed room, 24h hot water supply, chilled surrounding area, and nice view of Eilat airport and Jordan border are the things we enjoyed while staying in Arava hostel. — Andrew , Ukraine (2011-03-14)
Beware of bedbugs I stayed in this place ten months ago. While there, I got a rash, for which I couldn't figure a cause. After getting back home I did extensive search on the internet to try to figure what caused the rash. The only pictures, which looked exactly like my rash were those of bedbug bites. I immediately wrote an email to this hostel, alerting them that they might have bedbugs and they should check for their presence and take measures to eliminate them if found. I was told that the issue will be looked into. Now I visited this place again. When I got a key to a room, the first thing I did was to look for signs of bedbugs. Unfortunately after a quick search I found what looked like a dead adult bedbug, a discarded skin of a nymph and dark stains of what could be blood. While being no expert on bedbugs, these looked to me exactly like the pictures of bedbugs from the internet, and were certainly no cockroaches or any other insect I ever remember seeing. That was enough for me to leave immediately.
While dead bugs are no proof that there is still an active infestation, the fact that the guy from the reception (who said he is one of the people in charge, and is the same guy from 10 months ago) didn't even know what bedbugs are was not a sign that the issue was taken seriously. — Anonymous , Israel (2010-09-05)
Some fresh air needed first impression -- ok, friendly, nice guy behind the reception counter. But two breakfasts later I got completely annoyed -- first being forgotten, then having to ask for each item belonging to the breakfast -- doing the kitchen and the reception in the same time maybe is too much for one person alone. If then I had realized that the night I got bitten by -- seemingly -- a herd of fleas made me wish never to have heard of this place before. Try elsewhere! — Enno , German (2009-12-25)

Excellent! I say at this hostel at 02/03/09. I ask for share room and the price was 50 nis but after second thought I ask for private room, the price was 100 nis and in the room you have aircondition + tv cable + toilet and shower. in the room was double and single bed, of course I take the double. bottom line I was happy that I stay there and I am more then sure that I will return!!! — david , israel (2009-02-04)

The Best Hostel I have ever Stayed in. The hostel only costs 50 shek a night (it is 60 shek if you aren't a student) and has been the cheapest hostel I have ever stayed at in Europe, the Middle East, and in the U.S. The workers are all friendly (one was standoffish though but still helpful) and there is always someone at the front desk. The location is a few minute walk from the bus station and easy to find. It is right next door to this Brazilian restaurant and the Nova hotel. It is a bit of a walk though to get to the tourist center where all the bars and clubs are (twenty minutes), but not that big of a deal. The best part of this hostel is that they are the cleanest hostel and have the best water pressure and always hot water. It is better than my shower at home. They serve breakfast but I never had it. Most people staying here just cook. The rooms are pretty basic but good enough. There is one computer you have to pay for to use the internet. Would definitely stay here again if I were to go to Eilat. — JG , USA (2009-01-05)

Great place, very clean, great staff Spent about four nights there last summer. The place is very clean (rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and common areas), unlike most other hostels. The staff is also great, all of them very friendly and informative, and speak great English. I stayed in a dormitory with four beds. Pretty small space and nothing fancy but does the trick. There's air conditioning, cheap internet access, decently priced breakfast, and you can even do laundry and rent snorkeling equipment. They also have a few lockers if you want to leave your stuff during the day without staying another night. Also, it's pretty cheap for Israel hostels, only 50 shekalim a night when I was there. It's about a fifteen-minute walk to the beach, and about a five-minute walk from the central bus station. Again, the highlights are the awesome staff, cleanliness, and price. Highly recommended. — anonymous , USA (2008-09-16)

Great place I stayed there a few weeks ago and enjoyed it. August in Eilat is really expensive, but H'arava's prices were reasonable and the room was very nice -- clean bathroom, TV, air con. August in Eilat is also extremely hot, so a pool would have been nice -- but the price would go up. Good thing is, it is a fifteen-minute walk to the beach -- or go by taxi, which is ridiculously cheap and always go by meter! The staff were fun, helpful, and very friendly. A great place to stay! — Mette , Danish (2008-08-25)

Very Good I've stayed at this hostel several times. All good experiences. It is clean and quiet. I shared a room with people once, had no problems, but the other times I had my own room with a friend or two which is always the best way. (basically I'm saying I never had anything stolen here.) It is cute, the staff were helpful and friendly, and it is convenient, walking distance to the bus stop and beach, and a longish walk/short cab to the movie theater and some eateries. It's also right next to a Brazillian bbq resturant, but I've never eaten there. I would give this four-and-a-half stars. — Dusty , USA (2008-06-17)

One of the nicest hostels I stayed in this hostel for three nights, and I can only say, that it is one of the nicest hostels I have ever visited. Clean and comfortable rooms to a quite cheap price. Friendly and helpful staff. The hostel is located central and very close to the bus station -- great for those arriving by bus, who want a low budget vacation. — Karin , Denmark (2008-04-29)

No complaints Very friendly staff, some of the cleanest dorm bathrooms I've ever seen, air conditioned (or with a strong fan at least) rooms, decent beds, cool little main lobby area, a cute dog that lives on premises and pretty cheap. The only con would be that it's located in Eilat's hostel ghetto which is a little bit of a hike from the beach, but so are most hostels in Eilat. — Eric , U.S. (2008-01-27)

Excellent I've just spent five days staying at the hostel and I found the standard of the hostel excellent, my room was spotless. And witnessing the effort put into cleaning the rooms, I can see why! I had my own bathroom, fridge, and TV. You can do your laundry and there's a decent sized kitchen. Internet access and a drinks fridge in the reception. The staff and management were extremely friendly. Arron, Ruth, and le'ron are lovely people. The hostel is located in a great district of Eilat with cafes, bakeries, and local restaurants all around. For anyone who wants a great value stay in Eilat, this is it. — Tom Jenney , British (2008-01-15)

Excellent from Start to Finish I have stayed at dozens if not hundreds of hostels in the past seven years, and Biet H'arava is one of the best. It's clean, efficient, well located, and as cheap as can be. Yes it's basic (no breakfast or free towels), but if you're looking for a private room for two people look no further than Room 13. We stayed for three nights and the fantastic staff at the hostel was able to help us with everything from frantic phone calls back home, to internet access, and all the rest. All in all, I'd love to stay at this hostel for the rest of my life, should I have the benefit to return to Eilat. — David Gehring , USA (2007-12-28)
