1  Beware of this hostel!!!! Don't go there! I stayed my first two nights in Buenos Aires in this hostel. After the second night my body was completely covered with red dots all over which are now aching terribly due to a lack of hygiene in this hostel. Apparently there were bedbugs, flies, fleas in the bed. I can only say that I have been to many different countries all over the world and I have never experienced a worst thing like that in a hostel! Please keep out of this place if you want to stay healthy.  , German ()
1  A place completely out of control I had to stay in Buenos Aires for one night. the staff at the place I wanted to stay offer me to stay at Tango Backpackers for almost the same money. As it is supposed to be member of the same chain, I accepted. What a mistake! I got a sordid room, used blankets, no windows, next to a bar opened all night. The drank people coming back from party awake me at 6 a.m. screaming and turning on the music very loud. I complained and the staff said that they could not do anything. As asked for the complaints book. Mine was the first complaint. It was brand new and was not stamped according to the law in Argentina. I guess my complaint didn't go so far. After a bad night I took a shower -- ice cold. The kitchen and terrace were dirty and disordered. Bottles of beer spread everywhere. The last thing I saw was a one-inch cockroach leaving the men's room. But the staff is friendly as you can usually expect and the hostel quite good placed. If this is enough for you. They gave me back a ridiculous amount of money which I accepted, of course, since I felt completely cheated. Three words -- dirty, pathetic, disgusting. I stayed there on March 27, 2009.  , argentinian ()
4  Not bad Very large and open hostel space. I was pretty happy with my room. However, my sister got a couple bed bites! It also has a very young party vibe- in a rowdy touristy way...  , Canada ()
3  I stayed at Tango for about a week in March 2004. This hostel really has two sides, party and rest, and I wish I could rank the two separately. On the party side, it's one of the best places I'd stayed. It's what hostels are all about: meeting fellow travelers, arranging to go out, and exploring Buenos Aires together. The roof terrace is great for socializing, and the owners organize frequent barbecues there. The location is also great, with a few bars and the clubs of Palermo within a walking distance. On the rest side, however, the hostel is one of the worst. Forget about sleeping there. Some rooms are facing the noisy street, and with open windows you might as well be in the middle of an intersection. People constantly come and go, and the owners tend to relocate hapless tenants from bed to bed for no apparent reason, usually while you sleep. The mattresses are absolutely dreadful — sagging, filthy and barely holding together. So really, it's up to you what you prefer. For me, it was a good starting point to discover Buenos Aires, but I wouldn't stay here again. This old hag does need an occasional night of sleep.  ()
