Macool's Hostel is located in a quiet street but close to the centre of town. The hostel has an extremely friendly atmosphere, helped by the good ratio of communal space to number of beds. A spacious and well-equipped kitchen is provided with free tea and coffee all day, which is certainly a nice touch after a long walk on the North Irish coastline. All sorts of local information is provided both on the walls and by the friendly staff, although the staff are sometimes hard to track down!
The hostel is small, but offers accommodation in either a four or six bed dorm, or a twin/double room. All linen is provided free of charge and the rooms are very clean. The only downside to the bedrooms would be that some of the mattresses are of lower quality than others, so choose your bed wisely. Two showers/toilets are provided, which doesn't sound like a lot, but is a ratio of 1:6 to the number of beds.
The hostel has recently moved and therefore if on arrival you ask a local or a taxi driver they may take you to the wrong address, so do state that it is on Causeway Street.
