Auberge du Mont St-Jovite is located in St-Jovite -- a nice little village eight miles far away from the ski area Mont-Tremblant. If you don't have your own car there is a bus stop just three hundred feet down the street.
The hostel itself is about a mile outside from the main street in St-Jovite, nicely located at the beginning of a little mountain. So you have a nice overview over the Mont-Tremblant area and it is very quit there. The owner Claude has a couple of rooms for the youth hostel on one floor and on the first floor he offers apartments. They offer dormitories from two beds up to eight beds in one room all for the same price for one bed including bed sheets.
This hostel is marvelous because it is good situated close to Route 117 to Montreal and it is very clean. You have several bathrooms with enough showers and running warm water. There is also a huge common room with a kitchen and plenty of refrigerators for free use. You also find enough dishes and all the other things you need for cooking. This room also has a satellite TV and a table tennis plate and plenty of table games.
Claude and his wife are very helpful and they speak fluently French and English -- like when you have a problem with sleeping in an eight-bed dormitory because the others are so loud they don't have a problem to give you a separate room for the same price. They also offer their help in any kind of difficulty, you just have to ask them. During the skiing season a lot of students who work at Mont Tremblant live there and so you never have a problem meeting new people if you are travelling alone.
