It really is pressing to find a fault with HI - Mont-Tremblant International Youth Hostel. Not only is it positioned in a beautiful Canadian backdrop but it is also well equipped with its tidy bathrooms, kitchen, and many communal areas. There are also useful extras like bikes for rent and the free canoe hire.
Location
Mont Tremblant is a four seasons ski resort, offering activities all year round. The hostel is not situated at the Mont Tremblant site itself, but is located in the charming Mont Tremblant Village, which is near enough to cycle to the mountain in around thirty minutes. Getting to the hostel without a car will prove difficult. For those who somehow manage to get here without one there's a local bus that takes around ten minutes to reach the ski resort from the hostel. Surrounded by the Laurentian Mountains, you are immersed in nature. HI - Mont Tremblant is positioned next to the beautiful Moore lake, which you can explore using the hostel's very own canoes (which are completely free to use). Exciting bike rides can also be taken from here (many routes are flat for those who aren't a fan of work!). Situated in a village there are shops just a few minutes walk away including a small supermarket.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The dorm rooms are large, spacious, comfortable, and clean. Double rooms are available. The bathrooms are spotless and there's plenty of toilets and showers for when the hostel is bursting with people -- which it frequently is.
Common Spaces
Again, the kitchen is nicely tidy, with plenty of cooking equipment. BBQ and picnic areas are outside for enjoying the scenery during the summer months. Generally the hostel is a really friendly place, the bar area especially, which is often very lively, making it easy to bond with fellow travelers. Unusually there is a large Teepee in the garden -- here you can start a fire and create the illusion that you're camping. There's also a small TV room for those who want to escape the noisy bustle of the bar and enjoy a quiet night. The hostel also accommodates family groups.
Summary
Overall, the hostel is very clean, welcoming to families, and extremely comfortable. With such a homey feel, you'll be visiting the bar in your slippers.
