The youth hostel in Meinerzhagen is a very old building. It's frequented above all by groups from schools, clubs etc. Outside it looks a bit like a hospital or a school. It's a concrete building. It isn't near town,it's a little bit remote. But you can go to town on foot in about 15 minutes.Near the hostel there is a forest.Outside the youth hostel you can play football or basket-ball or table tennis. The football field is uneven,so the ball rolls away. You can have a campfire in front of the building, too. Inside the youth hostel has been renovated, now it looks more friendly there. Some rooms are colourful. But a lot of rooms seem cold. There are dorm rooms with six or seven beds for the guests. There aren't any washbasins and mirrors in some dorm rooms. But there is a table with some chairs in the rooms. On the cupboards there was a bit of dust when we were there. The rooms aren't huge but they are big enough. The bathrooms are near the rooms. There are two on a floor. In a bathroom there are four showers, several washbasins, but only at one you can find soap and papertowels.Furthermore there are two toilets.Sometimes you can't find any toilet paper and the rubbish bin is full to the top.The facilities seem relatively new,but often they aren't so clean. There are lots of dayrooms for eating, talking and having fun.For example you can usw a piano.Furthermore there is a small basement where you can play table tennis and table football. It's very quiet and social in the hostel. At ten o'clock you have to be in your own room and then you have to be quiet. But you can have fun there, too. The last morning of your stay the rooms have to be cleaned and left by nine o'clock. How to get there By bus: Via the motorway A45,exit Meinerzhagen.Turn left after 500 meters onto the B54 road,in the direction of "Olpe" and "Industriegebiet" (=industrial estate). After further 500 meters turn right into the industrial estate "Schwenke",at the next junction to the right again in the direction of "Skigebiet/Sprungschanze" (skiing are/ski jump). Follow that road. After 2km you have to turn right to the youth hostel. By car: Via the motorway A45,exit Meinerzhagen.Follow that up to the yellow signpost "Meinerzhagen" at the entrance to the town (on the left hand side there is the stadium and the public outdoor swimming pool). After 100 meters turn left into "Bergstrasse".After 500 meters you find the youth hostel on the left hand side. By train: The nearest station is in "Lüdenscheid-Brügge".From Brügge you take the numver 58 bus as far as the stop "Meinerzhagen-Stadthalle".There you have to take the number 281 bus and get off ar rhe stop "Stadion(=stadium)".From there you have to go 500 meters on foot until you reach the hostel.
