Hostelz.com's Review
HotelHotel Hostel is a great new hostel, clean and well located, in the quirky Fremont neighbourhood. The hostel itself is one of the best we have stayed in, but unfortunately the noisy bar next door might put some people off.

The Location

The hostel is located not very far from the bridge into Fremont -- if you're looking for a place located in Seattle proper, this hostel is a little bit out of the way, but still accessible. If however, you want to stay in Fremont, you couldn't ask for a better location. The hostel is easily accessible from both the airport and the Greyhound station. From the airport, it is a Light Rail ride and a bus ride away, and there is a direct bus line to the Greyhound station. The only minor problem is finding the actual entrance to the hostel. The name is not easily visible and neither is the street number. The name of the hostel is printed on a simple sheet of paper above the intercom, and is the kind of sign one easily overlooks if looking for a business name.

Rooms and Bathrooms

Both the rooms and the bathrooms are very clean and the look and feel of the whole hostel is new and modern. The mattresses are very comfortable and the rooms are spacious enough for everybody to be inside at the same time. There are metal lockers and sinks in the rooms. The bathrooms are very spacious -- a lot more than they need to be, which is a nice change from the cramped shower stalls and common sinks we are used to in hostels.

The only unfortunate problem with the rooms is the Irish bar next door that plays really loud music until late at night. We were on vacation, and we like the Dropkick Murphys, so we didn't mind. However, one of the girls staying in the dorm was a foreign student preparing for exams at one of the local universities and it bothered her. This is neither the bar's nor the hostel's fault, but it's something worth mentioning.

Common Spaces

There are several common spaces -- one near the reception, where free breakfast is served daily; one is a room with a large TV and a couple of couches; and the third is the kitchen. These are all very good, useful places, and we have met a few people hanging out. Overall, in our experience, this is a quiet hostel, but there weren't that many people staying there when we went. The atmosphere might be different in higher season.

Summary

This is one of the nicest, cleanest hostels we have stayed in, and we would recommend it to anybody who doesn't mind a little Irish music later at night. The owner is very nice and helpful and the location is the best we could hope for.

4   A little bit better than the rest. This place is right in Fultown center and minutes away from buses that take you to downtown. The hostel is clean and the beds are nice and comfortable. The mattresses are thick and bouncy and the kitchen is well kept. The TV room is okay for having beer and relaxing but the area is small. The one bad side about the hostel is the computer for internet access. It's an I-pad that's screwed into the railing of the common area and I had a lot of difficulty loading pages. I think the browser, "Safari", has problems loading some pages and its inconvenient to use cause the keypad is small and it requires skilled fingers to type anything. Overall, I would come back to this place.  , age 33 ()
5   Awesome clean, new hostel in an awesome area. This place is awesome! We were recommended to stay here by the staff at the Seattle city hostel which we stayed with also. Both amazing hostels with new comfy mattresses and great free breakfast, I definitely preferred the location on hotel hotel over the city though. Fremont is such a cool neighbourhood and if I had to choose between the two Hostels i would go with hotel hotel for sure. Modern, clean, super nice staff, huge private bathrooms, free wifi and breakfast, really convenient to the bus to town. Would definitely stay here again.  , age 30, New zealand ()
