5  My goodness, how the internet has brought wonderful memories into the here and now! I stayed here as part of an exchange group (AFS) orientation program. We stayed here two weeks for an orientation in German customs and language. What a place to be introduced. I'm not sure how old this castle is (I believe eighteenth century) and it was 1990 when I stayed there but it I'm sure the setting remains the same. I subsequently visited several Youth Hostels in Germany and this one far surpassed all others in terms of community, location and beauty. Memory certainly offers rose-tinted glasses, but I recall the Hostel being very close to the small village of Stimpfach (which produced a wonderful, locally made coconut chocolate) and the beautiful towns of Schwaebisch Hall and Crailsheim. It was also quite near an open-air museum, these wonderful replicas of medieval villages all accross Germany. For hikers and nature-lovers, the Hostel is also very close to several nature trails that wander for miles through the Swabian Hills. I'm certainly coming back.  ()
