Hostelz.com's Review
Upon approaching Itinere Hostel, you will see a sign for the hostel, but without the name. It simply tells you, in the Spanish abbreviation, that there is a hostel on the third floor. Upon being buzzed in, you will find your way to the third floor of this apartment building, where the bulk of the rooms are, and given a set of keys to the kingdom.

The Location

Located off the Gran Via, this hostel is easy to get to using the city bus, from the bus station (but pay attention, the stops are not announced and there is no signage at the bus stops). It is a brisk walk from the train station. The street itself is on the edge of the Granada city center, as are most of the hostels in Granada. The manager, who speaks English, Spanish, and Japanese, will be happy to help you find any of the landmarks in Granada. This includes the Alhambra Palace, which is a quick, simple, and cheap bus ride from the hostel.

Rooms and Bathrooms

On the third floor are the bulk of the rooms. Instead of crowding the space with bunk beds, this hostel uses traditional beds, a welcome relief for long term travelers who have been bunking for awhile. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom/shower are ensuite. The sleeping room is well ventilated, which is always a plus when you have many people sawing wood in the same confined space.

Common Spaces

The common area is on the fourth floor. It includes a large relaxation area, which has a flat-screen television and a stereo. There is also a kitchen on the fourth floor as well as a bathroom. There are rarely any guests using this area. "Breakfast" is free; you are given coupons for every day of your stay for the Ugarit cafe downstairs, good for coffee or tea and "toast" (in this case, a toasted roll with butter or jam).

There is a late, noon checkout, in the Spanish tradition. In Spain, people seem to prefer to stay out late and get up late, and this hostel accommodates that. The hostel is tranquil, so if that’s what you want, this is the place to go. It advertises itself as not being a party hostel, and lives up to its billing.
