The Hostelz.com Review
The Cat & Moose is a very nice hostel located in a bright orange old house at the end of Long Street (meters away from its bars and locals but far enough not to hear the noise at night). There are many spacious common rooms, two TV lounges, chill out areas and a pool lounge. There is a sunny courtyard and a small in-house bar which serves eat-as-much-as-you-can continental breakfasts for only 5 rands. All the rooms are situated on the 1st floor (US "2nd floor") nestled around the common kitchen, dining area and TV lounge.
There is a nice balcony overlooking Long Street, which is just about the perfect place to chill out or drink a beer or two... (note that the path to the balcony passes trough one of the dorms so if you want to go to sleep early at nights it may be wise to ask for one of the other dorms). The bathrooms and rooms are clean and cosy and the bed is made up every day, even in the dorms.

The best people work here! Jojo, Radolfo, and John — thank you for a great stay. — Kristin, Norway (2004-12-30) Car parking is possible, but I even parked it many days and nights in front of the hostel, perfect! It's on Long Street. There's a swimming pool next door and supermarket till 23.00 across the street. Perfect place to stay (shame the internet cafe next door has closed down). — Anonymous (2003-12-21)
