Description
New modern hostel with excellent 5 star (*****) rooms. All rooms with private bath and toilet. Located directly in the harbor, which is centrally in the historic city of Roskilde. Open all year. Frequent connections to Copenhagen City (only 30 mins). Free and large parking area close to hostel.
Next to Vikingship Museum ( a "must" to see and experience) and many other interesting attractions for tourists within close range/walking distance. Maritime and relaxed international atmosphere. Working Glass Artisan and Art Gallery - only 200 meters. Green areas and hilly public parks close by. Popular restaurants next door - one floating.
Walking and bicycle routes from harbour to pittoresque nature and forest - only 10-15 mins.
A place for guests ideal for relaxing. But also to study and gain knowledge of the history of Denmark. In many ways Roskilde is the cradle of The Kingdom of Denmark - and the city is 200 years older than Copenhagen - and has an active history of more than 1000 years - from the Vikings to modern age. Also known for the large Roskilde Festival.

Quite nice, for the short term The hostel is nice on its overall. Nonetheless, there are some points which drop down my rating. If you pay by CC, % charged on the total amount of your bill if you pay with a foreign CC. This commission is applied by the hostel on its own. If you do not have the Danhostel card, you also have to pay a plus per night (so the point is you have to pay even more, not the fact I have been told about it). Internet is NOT free. Location is beautiful, but in practical terms is awful. Price quality is reasonable, but even the cheapest option is expensive. — Anonymous , Italy (2011-09-22)

Five stars! The location is wonderful. the hostel is very, very nice. rooms are really great, as well as breakfast. friendly staff. Good price, if compared to other hostels in Denmark. I'd recommend this place, especially if you wish to visit more places around the Sjælland, apart from Copenhagen; Roskilde itself is a very nice little city. — Elisa , italy (2009-09-20)

I stayed in this hostel in the summer of 2004 and it cost the earth. It was more expensive than some hotels I've stayed in. However, if you want to visit Copenhagen then this is better value than a city center hostel. Be warned that Roskilde station is quite a distance (30 minutes walk) from the hostel. But you get a pleasant quayside location, and the rooms are superb and en suite. The breakfast is fantastic and the staff are very friendly. — Mark (2005-08-23)
