Great hostel the backpackers cera hostel has a great atmosphere. i felt home and i did not have any problem because i had good advices to places to go and avoid. the hostel is basic and simple but is cheap and clean. nice staff and the localization is quiet good. i recommend it. — conceicao , portuguese (2009-09-29) Very good Backpackers Ceara Hostel is the best hostel in Fortaleza. I got surprised how cheap and nice the hostel is. It is very safe, all the guests have password to get in and strangers are not allowed to get in. I had a fantastic time, It is a really nice place to stay, close to Centro Cultural Dragão do Mar that has local cultural activities, handmade krafts combined with a busy night life for people to choose. It is also close to the beach of Iracema, and has buses near by to go to other beaches. I recommended it.Lovely people running the place. Clean rooms and bethrooms. The Hostel is in a really central area within walking access to the beaches of Iracema and Miereles. There are lots of restaurants and bars close by with some good shopping. The staff are very friendly and know a lot of excellent information about the city regarding places to go and not to go. Facilities are basic but there's an excellent kitchen which is a good place to meet other travelers and enjoy a beer. Overall a nice place to stay with a very relaxed atmosphere within a big city for a very reasonable price. — Damien Williams , Ireland (2009-08-23) Good value, nice staff I just stayed here last night, but with all my backpacking experience i have I can recommend this place. Why? Because its cheap, an english speaking owner who knows the way around and is very helpful and the hostel has a good location. The bed I slept in was fine and showers were nice and cold. The owner is a very pleasant and open person who gives useful insider tips for the city and surroundings. Bathrooms, kitchen and rooms are simple but clean and worth the price! The owner was very friendly and helpful, organised my transportation and had a great knowledge about the town and possible activities. The rooms were very clean and only had four beds in each. The room rate was very reasonable (20 reals/night when I stayed there). The family that runs the place is very nice and tries to be helpful. It is indeed close to the cultural center Dragao do Mar, Mercado Central, and other city areas. — Alex , USA (2009-08-19) Awful, Unguarded, and Rude We arrived at 9 p.m. from the bus station after a long journey but nobody was working at the hostel that night. We waited for ten minutes outside the front door before one of the guests opened it to us. They had also been wondering where the staff were. We then phoned the staff who were very rude and denied that we had made a booking. He told us to **** off and find somewhere else as no one was coming back to the hostel to let us check in that night. The hostel looks awful too.
