I've stayed about four months at Red Cliffs backpacker (between mid-of December 2005 and end of March 2006) and I absolutely loved it! It's the best place ever to stay and meet wonderful people! Alright, the jobs are sh*t, and the backpacker is not a five Stars Palace, but if you ever go there, you will meet Roc and Mick, and only that, it's worth the way! I've been there four months as I said, and it was the best time ever! You're looking for a good fruit-picking place? You have found it! Enjoy Down Under!

I am glad that bruce has sold the place. I had the misfortune of being told by bruce that myself and six friends would have guaranteed work in redcliffs so we promptly travelled the twelve hours by coach to get to a fly/flea ridden hostel and as soon as we handed over a weeks in advance rent were told "the work is a bit quiet at the moment." we hunted for work and had no more than two days a week work (just enough to pay for bruce's beer). the place was dirty and any food and beer we could afford to buy was stolen by his son. bruce's daugthers were as thick as whale omelettes and also partied at the house making a mess and noise. I heard some English bloke pummeled bruce after i left. a tasty right hook and a chair thrown to his bearded head. my only regret is i didn't see it.

One of the most homey, fun, relaxing, cozy, comfortable hostels I've ever stayed in!!! It was more like a big house, living with your mates, than a hostel! Bruce is such a lovely man...a bit like your dad, always looking out for you. It's not the cleanest sometimes but it is up to everyone to pitch in after all, because that's the vibe here. I would recommend it to anyone. I made some great friends there. I love you, Bruce, and I hope you're still going strong!!

I stayed in this hostel for four months and was absolutely heartbroken when I left. The free barbecues on Saturdays, the atmosphere, and the parties on the weekends were amazing! It was definitely the best place I ever stayed at, and it made the trip to Oz more memorable. I heard Bruce has sold the hostel — what a shame! Red Cliffs is quite boring, but that just makes the hostel more fun because everyone gets together to do things. Some of the nicest people I ever met were in this place!

Amazing place. I'd also say that my time there was some of the best months of my life. It's true, Bruce is a dear old guy, but he's a raging alcoholic and his son is a psychopath and he's probably drunk and smoked himself to death by now, God bless him. I'll never forget the night one of my friends fell over and Bruce drove him to hospital blind drunk and swerving all over the road. Great days...
I could write about this place all day. Atmosphere to die for, and the best place to meet women I have ever been.

I think that the 3.5 months I lived in the hostel and worked picking fruit were probably were some of my best times in my life.
Bruce did a lot for me, and I can say for sure that in the end he saved my trip. He's a dear man with a great heart and I know he will always be in my heart. (I think he sold the place by now.)
The hostel after-work life was nice and unforgettable, too. I will never forget the backpackers' atmosphere at Red Cliffs. Even if the hostel is not so clean and the work is hard, it doesn't really matter - what matters is the atmosphere, right, mates? (-;
People, you can have the Red Cliffs Experience, too! (I found it to be the best hostel in the Mildura area.)

Well, a really nice hostel with nice people and atmosphere, but not very clean (not at all). So think about that fact before you come here. The owner Bruce really cares about his people, seeks a job for you (I think really extraordinary), but not always the easiest. You have to work pretty hard to get an average wage in this area.
