Shenannigans Backpackers is Part of the Popular Shenannigans Pub.
Situated in the heart of Cairns city.
Downstairs of Shenannigans pub we have 3 large bars, Bistro, Gaming room, room with pool tables Huge Screens and TV's everywhere (so you can watch your favourite sports) and a large tropical Beer Garden. Live Bands Play in the Beergarden Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday Nights.

Shennannigans is the only "Pub Style" Backpackers in Cairns .We offer 2 different types of accommodation for the adventurous traveller.

Upstairs in the Pub is our Backpacker Hostel. Suited for the Young
International Traveller, our hostel has Dorms, double, twins, TV room
with Huge screen, Kitchen, communal showers, laundry and a huge
balcony where you can chat away with the new friends you have just met.

Next Door adjacent the Beer Garden is our Backpackers (Motel Syle) rooms which have private bathroom, colour television, bar fridge
Twins, Doubles, Triple rooms and 4 bed dorms.

We just stayed at Shenannigans, and we had no problems at all. It's nice and clean, comfortable enough and the kitchen and laundry look new and had everything you need as far as I can tell. The best things are that its right in the city and they have really cheap food and drink deals for people that stay there. And the tour staff were good too.

This place is not bad for the price (it's far cheaper than other hostels). It's not the nicest of places but at least it has a lively bar and beer garden. Most of the dorms are large, and the beds are pretty ancient and squeaky. The kitchen is small and useless, there's no cooking equipment (or a cooker!) and the microwave is always broken. The TV room is okay. There's a balcony with benches for quiet drinks or card games. There is loud music in the bar Thursday through Sunday evenings, so don't bother coming here if you value your sleep!!!
