Complete hell hole do not attempt to go near this place -- its the dirtiest i've seen. there are twelve rooms -- at least six are filled with nut jobs. the landlord is a complete freak of nature something you would probably see in a zoo. stay away if any sense.

Stay Away The house isnt a hostel, is a short term accommodation. you pay weekly, its dirty, everything kept breaking, the hot water comes and goes but when we complained the landlord said we were lucky to have hot water -- that he uses cool. He is supposed to send a cleaner every two weeks but we were there for three months and only seen one twice. We had to pay for the laundry and there's not even hot water going into it and the dryer doesnt work. The landlord is nuts, he freaks about everything, he calls every night. I was renting a room off him which was supposed to be a double but when we moved in he had two single beds pushed together so one of us always ends up falling between the beds. There is one guy living there who is mental -- he is always shouting about eating flesh and talking to the birdies. Other than that we had great fun with everyone living here, met some good friends who we're still in touch with. The was a good mix of people who all got along together and always drank together.

This is a guest house located in New Farm (twenty minutes' walk from centre) in a residential area that had a few other guest houses/hostels at the beginning of the street, and lots of nearby facilities (bars, takeaways, grocers). The room had a TV and was clean enough, the sheets were clean at least. I'd recommend it more for older people rather than young travelers. I got on well with the owner and found him friendly, helpful, and talkative. There was a laundry room (free to use), outside garden with table tennis, washing lines, parking, and a small balcony. Upstairs was separate from downstairs. Upstairs had a shared bathroom/toilet, lounge with TV/dvd/board games, and kitchen.

Warning! Do not stay here unless you're absolutely desperate! The place is filthy and has bed bugs. We hated it so much that we left early. There's some better and cleaner places to stay for just a few dollars more. This place should be closed down as it's not fair to expect people to pay good money for a dump like this!
