I don't even want to give it 1 star but I have to! The problems with the information given for this hostel are that the internet doesn't work. It may be free but you literally can't do anyhting on it. I could log onto facebook, but couldn't write anything or see anything other than homepage. Any other website you can't see properly either. Pool is free, but the green stuff is completely worn away. The only good free facilities are rice and pasta, and free foxel tv. The last night of staying in this hostel my boyfriend had his bag stolen, which had his ipod, mobile phone, and ipod speakers in. The front and bedroom doors are constantly left open for anybody to walk in. The same evening a woman walked in and took a laptop that was left in the computer area in reception. The staff are unfriendly, unhelpful and generally don't have a clue what they are doing. The place is disgusting, most things are broken and nothing is cleaned. During our stay from Thursday-Monday, the kitchen could not have been cleaned once. Nobody washes up, they leave food in pans for days, and the bins were not emptied. Just so good. — cyril , french (2009-12-15) Disaster! stayed in mad cat in dec 2007. it was dirty with cockroaches (dead and alive) all over the corridor floor. kitchen was filthy. room across from the night club. place looked like it was never ever cleaned at all. only stayed there cause everything else was booked out. checking out i was refused to get my deposit back ($40 for two keys) only cause the "manager" wasnt there at the time of checking out and i had to wait an hour and then she said i was late. absolutely hate this place. the worst hostel i stayed in on my six months' trip around the world. — Ola , Poland (2009-01-12) Dont go here Bedbugs, drunk people, dirty rooms and toilets, rude staff -- i was ignored several times. I stayed here for a while end all I can say is don't go there. Why? First of all. On their websites price is announced from 10$ but it's nothing like that, cheapest 12bed dorm was 18$/night including sh*tty breakfast and free rice, free internet, pool/table soccer, and foxtel. My room was right next to computer area (free internet but computers are very unstable and using linux. So save everything every five minutes) and right behind very thin window is located outside area where people are getting drunk and smoking. There is also a nightclub nearby so If you want just have a bit sleep, it is impossible here. Bed itself was poor. You can feel net where the martress is lying. Somebody peed on two beds, I was lucky that it wasn't my bed but my towel got some. You should keep everything with you all the times because there is too much strange people (non inhabitants) wondering around hostel and people don't lock the doors. There is no friendly atmosphere in this hostel and people has their own friends and they need no more mates. It is currently swapping ownership and there are a lot of repairs needing done to make it habitable. Basically it needs to be knocked down and rebuilt!
