F**kin' awesome
I had the best time here! The rooms were so clean! I had my own TV, Bathroom, and little Kitchen! This hostel was the only one that was busy in Airlie! i Know where i will be staying when i come back next year!

Great hostel!
We had a brilliant time at Beaches! The rooms aren't spotless -- we found a fair few bugs crawling about and bedbugs got me bad! But you probably won't find somewhere without this problem. We were put in an eight-bedroom dorm, which was great fun and pretty cheap, which was perfect for us. They say no drinking in the rooms but we did every night and had no problems. Only thing I will say is that a queue builds up in the kitchen for cooking from 5:30 until it closes, which was a pain but we got over it. Great location, has a really good bar downstairs, and is a five-minute walk to everywhere else you would want to go. Perfect if you want to have a good time at night!

I would definitely reccommend staying here on your next visit to Airlie. My friend and I stayed initially for three nights and then returned for our final night. We stayed in a twin room, which was huge (obviously a converted dorm room). Even though it was only a twin room, it had two single beds and a double bed, with stacks of floor space in between. We had our own ensuite which was very clean, and our room had a small kitchenette with a fridge and a sink (no appliances but they are located in the communal kitchen). We even had a TV! The bar downstairs is also massive, and goes off every night of the week! It has good, cheap pub food that come in very big servings, and drinks are the same as anywhere else. I wouldn't recommend staying in a dorm room if you wanted a good nights sleep as the ones that I saw were right next to the bar, but we were lucky enough to get a room on the top level at the back end. So unless you are an extremely light sleeper, you should have no trouble. The thing that made beaches really stand out for me was the staff. They were absolutely fantastic, and went above and beyond the call of duty in making our stay as enjoyable as possible! The only bad thing I could say is that the pool is pretty crappy (the size of a small pond) but with the airlie beach lagoon directly across the road, who would want to waste their time in a pool anyway?

Beaches hostels are good and a good price, the rooms are onsuite, with a tv and your own balcony. The bar has something going on every night and gives you a chance to meet new people. The only thing is the swimming pool is very small and you can't swim in it.

Just stayed for 1 night here... still ok, but definitely not the best I stayed in. Room was good, with own bathroom and enough place. I guess in the rooms in the front it can be quiet noisy because of the bar... I found it also not normal that I had to pay to store my luggage till when I had my bus. At least they brought me to the bus... But yeah.. you are at the east coast, you have to pay for everything..

Fantastic bar, but rude obnoxious staff! Turned up at midnight having made the booking around 4 weeks before and reconfirming our arrival time three days before to be told that due to the computer crashing all the bookings had been lost and there was no room left for us. We were told that we could be booked into another hostel and kindly were driven to it, got out of the mini bus with our bags and by the time we had found out the reception was closed and we couldn't book in till morning the bus had driven off. Not impressed with the staff at all, but it has to be said that the bar is great!

We stayed for two nights, it was probably the best hostel we stayed in the whole East Coast trip. The rooms were nice and spacious, 6 beds (bunks) in each, ensuite shower and toilet that was clean (always a bonus!), fridge, TV and balcony. No alcohol allowed in the rooms and they do come round twice daily to check the fridge for any illegal stashes! Air con in the rooms as well, which was great. The bar downstairs is excellent, cheap drinks and food and always a good craic. Internet room had plenty of computers, $4 an hour which is cheap for Airlie Beach. Kitchen was clean and well equipped. You have to hire plates and cutlery and stuff from reception ($5 deposit). The housekeeping staff were excellent, everything was always clean which is not usually the case with the hostels we've stayed in! Only downside was reception, staff were really helpful and friendly but there weren't enough of them, took aaaaages to check in and out 'coz was always long queues. Oh, and they take RoamFree! FINALLY, somewhere that takes it!

I wouldn't even recommend this place to my enemies! Talk about scummy — the bathrooms are terrible and the fact that they are "en suite" to the dorms means that there's no privacy because the dorms are mixed. The staff vary from competent to downright rude, and the place charges for everything (including storage of bags while you're on a boat). Go to Magnums next door for the same standards, but $10 cheaper a night and free storage. I only gave it 1 star because that's the minimum you can give!

If you love the Ibiza scene you will love it here! All you could hear was the sound of buummmpppffff buuuummmmmpppfff bbuuuuummmppff till four in the morning! Bedbugs are greedy little beggars too! Bathroom facilities were Third World standard, rotting mirror, and a wig of pubic hair forming on the floor. Who could ask for more, aye?!

This hostel was amazing! The dorm rooms had five to six beds in them and their own bath/shower. There is air conditioning, a fridge and a TV in each room as well. The fact that the hostel is centrally located and attached to an outdoor bar is a bonus as well! I would definitely stay here again!!!

I had the best time in Airlie Beach — party every night and loads of sunshine! Beaches is a great place to base yourself, as it's in the center of everything and the rooms have showers and toilets and air-conditioning. The bar is awesome and a great place to meet loads of people!

I didn't stay in the hostel but the bar is a great laugh. It's the best place to start your evening — cheap drinks, bad music, and good fun!!
