1  Extreme Health Risk!!!! One of the toilets was blocked on the second floor and left to fester full of stagnant urine and rotten feces. The cubicle door had been left wide open so that the whole floor was polluted by the nauseating odour. This hostel is by far the worst I have ever seen! The walls were crumbling and the carpet, old, dirty, and worn. The kitchen hadn't been cleaned in what appeared to be an eternity -- bread, green with mould, had been left to to decay -- possibly as food or bait for the rats that are apparently more abundant here than the common backpacker.  , England ()
1  Worst Accommodation, but a decent pub Great pub and music but the accommodation is crap. I was told by the manager that things shouldn't be too loud on the top floor, but it felt like I had my own private dj in my room. Paid for a private room, but when I returned home late, I found someone sleeping in my room. The manager was at least good enough to reimburse me for the difference. The rooms were basic, which is to be expected, but they could have been a lot cleaner. My advice is visit the pub, but stay somewhere else.  , Australian ()
1  Worst Hostel Ever! National Hotel is very noisy, dirty, smelly and I do not recommend it to anyone. It was the worst hostel I ever went. Though the bar can be qualified as cool, you would not want to sleep there except if you plan to get so drunk that you won't even care, that's probably the idea.  , French - Australian ()
1  Extremely Poor I stayed there and it is a sh*thole -- Full of old perverts!  , Australia ()
1  Don't stay here I stayed here for about three weeks. the only good thing i can say is that the rooms and showers are clean. The one computer didn't work, if you were in the kitchen and someone was having a shower above you, you got wet! Very, very noisy from the bar downstairs on thurs, fri, and sat nights. They crammed four people in one four-bed dorm, when there was no one else in the whole hostel, apart from the creepy old man, Jack who drinks cups of tea from a carrot tin! Dont get talking to him, you will be stuck for two hours, and if you want to chill out and watch something in the lounge -- not a chance he is in there every night watching what he wants to watch. my advice would be not to stay here!  , England ()
1  We spent there not longer than two hours as I discovered, whilst sleeping, bedbugs in my bed! Worst one I have ever been, they don't give you extra sheets to cover your bed and now I have the problem. Bites all over my body. Thanks a lot!  , German ()
1  Unfortunately this Hostel very unsupportive and unwelcoming to traveling Australian Artists (quiet acoustic solo singer songwriters attempting to traveling to regional areas to perform to the local community). The were unable to obtain a booking at this venue which was the cheapest available in town -- which was very very disappointing to say the least.  , AUSTRALIA ()
5  This place is one of a kind, in an awesome way. There are great staff, the drinks are well priced and the clientele is very mixed and friendly. I would totally recommend the National Hotel to anyone. If by chance you are there on a Tuesday night, you must go to their trivia night. By far it's the best night out for laughs, drinks and party games. Kudos to the two hosts and the staff. I will definitely be back and will be bringing heaps of friends!  ()
5  This place is really cool; the best place to stay in Geelong. The atmosphere is great, friendly, and there is always something going on. The Dim Sims totally rule!  ()
5  The atmosphere in this place is AWESOME!!  ()
4  Nomads National Hotel is very central, right in the heart of city 500 metres to the magnificent water front. It's about 10 minutes walk from Geelong Rail Station, hourly trains to and from Melbourne. Nomads has cheap quality meals and drinks.  ()
