Keith is a legend I stayed here twice between 2003/2004 fruit picking with the fatty backpacker above me Sian Moseley! It was hard work but we had a blast. Good Times Good Memories. Keith is a legend who did treat us as one of his own. Definitely a home from home. — Gemma Smith , Scottish (2011-10-17)

This hostel is a great place to stay I spent four months the first time and worked for Veraca farms and had a great time, Keith who does own this place. Sandy was his new girlfriend that he met the second time i stayed there! (fact.) Keith would put on awesome BBQs and it was generally a great place to stay. I stayed the second time for four months (I had actually overstayed my visa). I was there between Jan. 2002 and June 2002 and again in Dec. 2002 and March 2003. — Mike , Wales (2009-02-22)

Fab! Stayed here Christmas 2001/2002 and had the best three months -- will never forget it! — Leanne and Neil , England (2007-09-10)

Fab! Murchison is an experience! I was there in May/June 2001. After a slow start -- due to my poor seasonal timing -- I worked turning tomatoes. Luckily lots of fun with interesting locals (from an anthropological point of view!) and other like-minded backpackers. After the factory closed, I cleaned the hostel for Keith, which helped as I'd got no money! Incidentally, Murchison has special memories for me as I met my Australian boyfriend and we continued traveling until we broke up a few years later, but not before meeting Keith's son in Perth ages later. But in-between there was fun and it all started in Murchison -- who'd have thought?! — Catherine , England (except I've been in Australia ever since) (2007-08-06)

Great little place in the middle of nowhere! with nothing around for what seems and feels like ever! there is work and some very nice farmers, and some horrid ones too, but that's just farmers for you. great place to meet fellow backpackers -- as are all places that host fruit pickers. i stayed here for six weeks in 2004! — mark , english (2007-05-12)
Everything you read about this place is a lie. Women, beware! This place is full of dangerous, desperate guys! My time here was nothing but traumatic and frustrating. Keith is not the owner, his partner is. Keith is a liar and a coward. He does not treat you like his own. His partner Sandy is an angry, abusive woman with serious issues. I was assaulted by this woman and kicked out of the room i was staying in (which she has nothing to do with) and was left with out a job for no real reason. She told everyone not to let me in the room which i had already payed one week in advance. The owner of this hostel wasnt aware. The place is full of guys and they repeatedly harassed me, including one night when one guy came into my house without permission! It's like there is no law in this town. My advice is to stay away. Especially if you're a woman. I hope no one else has to deal with what i put up with. This is a true story. — Undisclosed , Undisclosed (2007-03-28)

I stayed here for nearly three months in 2001. I had great craic, worked hard but have good memories of the place. I hope Ozzy is still going strong! — Claire Kelleher (2005-05-17)

Back in 2002 this was my also my home away from home. It has a great atmosphere. I spent three of my best months in Australia here! — Katie (2005-01-04)

This is a very nice hostel. I had my best time in Oz here! — Jack Dunnning (2004-12-08)

This was my home away from home for three months back in 2001. It's good to see that Keith and the hostel are both still going strong. Highly recommended. — Richard Rigby (2004-12-08)

Keith the owner of the hostel is an absolute diamond. He looks after you and treats you like one of his own and does all he can to find you work!! — Sian Moseley (2004-02-29)
