Clean, friendly, cozy We'd heard good things about Tim's Place and it didn't disappoint. The kitchen and bathroom was clean and tidy, and the common dining room/lounge and kitchen was a great place to catch up with other travelers. Our room was a four-share in a cabin, which included a small bar fridge, dining table, and chairs in a vestibule and even a comfortable reading chair and lamp! If you're keen to do some hard core partying, this is probably not the place, but If you want a place you can chill out and feel like you're up at the cottage, this is it. The best value for money I have come across so far. — Sonna Hahn , Canada (2008-07-15)

It's a hostel. I felt like home. You can watch movies and listen music or chat with friends in the lovely living room. — Kailin (2007-02-11)

Very nice place. Clean dorms, clean bathrooms, cheap internet, well-equipped and rather big kitchen, very spacious setting with lots of places to sit, free mountain bikes, free golf clubs, and an amazingly friendly staff. They really want to help you, planning your way around Hall's Gap and further. Also, a nice location, near walks and in the centre of the Grampians. $23 for a dorm bed (no discounts) which is great value for money. — Max, NL (2006-12-03)

A home from home. Cosy, clean and very welcoming. Tim has an amazing knack for remembering very guest's name and introducing everyone to each other. Wish it wasn't only a one night stop over as I would have liked to stayed longer -- just chilling. — Claire (2006-04-27)

Was the best and frendliest hostel, which we visited during our trip through Australia.
Tim is the real French Aussie and Betty is a manager with a big heart (for children and their parents and of course all other guests). — Claudia and Gerold, Berne (Switzerland) (2006-01-07)

Tims Place is a very nice place to stay. Betty, the charming lady working there (owning the place???), was quite friendly and made me feel like I am home. The bathrooms and the kitchen were very clean, so were the rooms. They have a garden where you can sit and chill out while enjoying the great view of the mountains. If you go to Grampians, stay there. — Sopro76 (2005-12-14)

The best hostel I have ever stayed in!! This place was amazing and Tim was the best host ever! I would definitely recommend that everyone who goes that way stay in this wonderful hostel. Tim knows the area so well and will gladly help you in arranging your day's plans. The beds and living areas were also very nice and you feel right at home as soon as you walk in the door. The warm fire was also a great thing during the colder winter months. I will definitely stay here again!! — An Aussie boy and a Yankie girl (2005-08-23)

We arrived there without a booking during the Easter break but Tim managed to find a vacancy for three of us! He is a very friendly and helpful host. Betty was also a great host as well. The hostel was very clean, the kitchen was well equipped, and we met fantastic travelers there. It was like a home and we regret having to leave so soon! We really would love to thank Tim and Betty for their great hospitality. We'll surely visit there again! — Daniel, Kaz, Rhys (2005-03-27)

This place is so friendly! And it's extremely lax. Tim arranged a last-minute barbecue involving everyone in the hostel. The surroundings are beautiful, too. It's a great place to "get away from it all." — Jessica Cave (2004-06-29)
