The Hostelz.com Review
Nice Hostel - Skopje is a very interesting place, as it is basically an apartment turned into a hostel. As such, it only has very few rooms and beds. Overall this place has a relaxed, cozy atmosphere.
The Location
The hostel is located at the edge of the city center. It's pretty easy to find as it is at the intersection of two big roads. This does not mean that it gets noisy at night, though; there are barely any cars on the streets at night. To walk there from the Bus/Train station it takes about fifteen minutes. The neighborhood seems safe, but it is not really interesting or attractive. However, within ten minutes' walking, you are in the city center. Around the place there are some places to buy food and other stuff. In the city center, you'll find plenty of restaurants.
Rooms and Bathrooms
There is only one private room with two beds, and two dorm rooms with six beds each. The dorms are clean, in one you also have a balcony to sit outside. We were not offered any lockers, and the door to the hostel is usually open. Still, we were not really concerned about safety.
There is only one bathroom, which is clean and tidy. There is enough warm water and so on.
Common Spaces
The common space has one table with six chairs and a small kitchenette. There is one computer and Wi-Fi for the whole place. Generally speaking this is a very quiet hostel with little going on. There are usually little people around and the common space is not really inviting to hang out and socialize.
Summary
This hostel is a good-enough place to spend a night or two, but if you want to stay longer and meet more other travelers, you might want to consider choosing a different option with more people, and bigger, more comfortable common areas. If however you prefer a quiet hostel and want to mind your own business, it's just the place for you.
