Best hostel i have stayed in
This hostel is brilliant. i stayed here for two weeks in a twin room, it was very clean and friendly. We shared a kitchen with one other room and it was very clean, the only bad thing about it i would say is it lacked some utensils but with our own kitchen it is nothing to complain about! We also had our own TV to share with one other room! There is always something going on at sleeping inn every night whether its a BBQ or nightclubs, and very cheap! We went out on a night out with the hostel and other hostels and it was great -- it's a great opportunity to meet other people! I would recommend this hostel to anyone, it is only three minutes' walk from the center of surfers and is very friendly!

Dirty and Cramped!
Unless you are fine with cockroaches and mice, don't stay here!

Sleeping Inn Surfers will be a place i will remember for the rest of my life. I came to surfers for only a few nights. I I ended up staying over three months, one month of that at sleeping inn! Yes the rooms are a little hot, and yes if you share a dorm with messy people it will get messy. but you get that where ever you go in a hostel. hey its a backpacker life! It is very close to downtown, just a few minutes stumble down ol penninsular drive. Andy and Brad are the best, the staff offer so much good info, and are excellent hosts! Sleepin inn always has something going on at night, and can offer some fun fun times. you can go in the movie theatre (old school bus converted to theatre) on the property every night, the front desk has a million dvds to watch as well! If your going to Australia make this your one stop.

I thought this was a good hostel. I stayed in a eight-bed dorm separated into two four-bed rooms (two bunks in each). It had a living area with a kitchen just off it and a bathroom. The cleaners didn't do a great job of cleaning up the kitchen and just really mopped up the bathroom. The rooms were hot at night. We were on first floor with our own private balcony overlooking the pool. The staff were helpful and they had a night out organised every night. Great location, I'd recommend this hostel, especially anyone traveling on their own.

good place to stay, we were in a double in a separate house up the road. short walk to town and bus station but nice and quite in residential area. really good kitchen and room the only downside being two girls who took over the bathroom the whole time we were there! really nice staff.

Mouse droppings in the rooms. No apology, just told us that the previous guests were messy. So what? I'm not messy, and you can clearly smell the droppings, did you even check the room after the other people moved out?

I stayed there for two nights last week and was happy to leave. The apartment style is quite good depending on how clean your room or flatmates are. They say the bedsheets get changed but I'm not so sure about that. I also don't know what they consider cleaning. I found the kitchen quite disgusting, the bathroom was ok. Lockers are $4 for each use! They have party nights but when everyone leaves for it, it's quiet. The pool is ok, the spa is nice, and you can watch a movie once a week from it. The location is quite good, everything walkable.

A very sad hostel. I love to party as much as the next one, but getting a twin room in a room next to loud music throughout the entire night... It wasn't clean. It cost $70 for one night when you could go and stay at a hotel for $10 more a night. Which I ended up doing, leaving half way through the second night. VERY awful place. Never ever stay there!

Great double room, set within a unit, lovely bathroom and clean kitchen. It's pricey at $75 for a double but you get what you pay for. Friendly atmosphere.

I stayed at The Sleeping Inn in a shared dorm for four nights recently and found it to be a great place to stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, there was a nice pool and spa and the location was good, within walking distance to the beach and the center of town. The rooms had a TV, fridge, kitchen and bathroom. The room was filthy at times, but that's more to do with the people you are sharing the room with and no fault of the hostel; you get that at any hostel. Most of the time it was clean. The bathroom could do with some maintenance (leaking taps) and a cafe would be nice. Dreamworld is by far the best theme park to go to. They arrange great pub-crawls and promote a friendly atmosphere. The RSL club down the road has great meals at affordable prices. The only thing I had trouble with was the hot room. I found it difficult to sleep at night. They had a fan in the rooms, but that did little to cool the place down. The rooms were so much hotter than outside. I was in an upstairs room; other rooms might have been cooler. I think that you would have the same problem in any place without air conditioning and after all, it is a hostel. You get what you pay for. Hotels are $80-$300 per night. I spoke to other people on the pub-crawls who were staying at other hostels, they all told a similar story of hot, sometimes dirty rooms. That's backpacking life. Overall I would recommend "The Sleeping Inn." I would probably request an apartment or a ground floor room next time; they might be a bit cooler.

I stayed here a month ago, around New Year's, and had the best time I've ever had in my life! I met so many cool people that stayed in our dorm, and the staff were excellent and so helpful and friendly! I strongly recommend this hostel if you want to have a GREAT time! It's so close to town and the beach. Everyone who stayed there was friendly and it was so easy to meet people.

This was my favorite hostel in Australia. Our room stank a bit and they wouldn't let anyone else stay in it, so we had the place to ourselves for a week. It was great. We had a kitchen, bathroom and sitting area to ourselves! We got picked up from the bus depot by limousine, even though it's only a five-minute walk!!

Really, this is ideal. They are self-contained apartments with no curfews on cooking and TVs you can actually get to watch. It's about a 15-minute walk to the main center. They clean every day but they do seem to have a problem with the German cockroaches. There are not enough utensils in the kitchens and it's a little run down, and there's only one washing machine for the entire hostel, but it's not bad. The cleaner is very friendly and helpful.

This place is terrific! It's like sharing a house with other mates which includes our own fully equipped kitchen, fridge, wines, clean bathroom and a lounge area with TV. I had a superb time in the Jacuzzi, even though it was freaking cold at night! Great staff and location!

We stayed here about a month ago and thought it was brilliant! The rooms were basic, but comfortable and clean. We had a big lounge and kitchen shared with 2 other parties of people, so it was a really good way of meeting people! We were even picked up from the transit centre in a limo! :) Also, it was a really short walk into town!! I would definitely recommend it!!
