Crap! This was my worst nightmare and i'm still seething a month after staying at this place! It was gross. just like all the other unsatisfied customers, only my one ended up worse as i got robbed in my sleep by someone climbing through the balcony! Everything about this place is dodgy, the people that are there in particular. I'm pretty sure the thieves live in house, as apparently things are getting stolen all the time. Do not stay here. pitch a tent -- it would be better than this place any day!

This is the worst place in the world! Firstly, the room smelt like wet dog (had to keep the balcony door opened at all times), the bathroom looked like it had never been cleaned since the place was built. We were not game to walk on the carpet without shoes due to the interesting collection of mould. The pillows were out of shape and also mouldy. Seriously, I would not let my worst enemy stay here! It was cruel and unusual punishment, never to be repeated!

Loved my stay here! I stayed here on my own and felt very safe. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Room was small but clean. So close to everything! I will most definitely stay here again.

this place rocks, very friendly people running it. under new management. rooms a bit small but hey only four sleeping in and a two-second walk to beach. check it out -- you wont be disappointed.

This was the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. It was dingy, dirty, cramped, and smelly. The rooms do have a TV and fan in them, neither of which worked. Stuff in the fridges had mold, as did the 'en-suite' in the rooms. The door to the bathrooms in the bedrooms was a slide door and did not shut. There was barely room to stand once you and your backpack were in the bedroom. I would never go there again -- I would rather sleep on a bench!

My friend and I stayed here one Saturday and I tell you it was probably the worst place I have seen. There were geckos in the bathroom and cockroaches crawling all over the balcony. The towels smelt DISGUSTING and all the linen looked unwashed. The staff let themselves into our room when we weren't there. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you are on a really strict budget and don't mind the possibility of sleeping in creaky bunk beds and have no remote for the TV, which hangs high off the wall!

It was dingy and the staff let themselves into the room to leave a note when they could have put a note under the door. VERY risky. DO NOT stay there unless you are extremely short of cash!

We stayed at this hostel recently and were disappointed to discover that it was not the modern place the Web site had led us to believe. The entire place smelt damp and the bedroom and bathroom were dirty. The place looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in years. The staff we encountered were friendly enough, but this didn't make up for the very poor standard of accommodation. The communal areas were a little better but I wouldn't have wanted to cook anything in the kitchen and we didn't see anyone else using it either.

I stayed in this hostel three weeks ago and it was the worst ever. The rooms were dirty, it smelt really bad and the staff were crappy. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

My wife and I stayed at this hostel while backpacking, and the staff were unfriendly. They also used every excuse to keep the key deposit from us.

If there was a shortage of beds in Surfers Paradise, then I would possibly stay here again, but I would first try to find somewhere else. The rooms were small and stuffy (thank god for the fan!) and the bathrooms and kitchen could definitely be a little cleaner. It's not the worst hostel in the world, but it's definitely not the best - I would look elsewhere. In fact, I would probably advise anyone thinking of visiting Surfers Paradise to give it a miss altogether and head either north to Noosa or south to Byron Bay. I found Surfers a little tacky .... it's just my opinion.

I have stayed in many hostels around the world and this one has to be the worst. The staff were unfriendly except when we were buying drinks at the bar, and the rooms were absolute crap.... The pillows were black and looked like they had been there for 15 years at least. The rooms were tiny and the bathroom was shocking. The toliet seat was not attached to the toilet, and when you sat on the toilet, your knees stuck out into the shower. I would not reccomend this hostel to my worst enemy.
