Awesome Hostel! This hostel was so good! Its right in the middle of everything to do in Cairns and the people were really nice. There is a pool on the roof which was so nice to chill out by. Its quite big so there are a lot of people which made it fun and social! — Anonymous , New Zealand (2011-01-14)

Great place Very central location, clean, small rooms, cheap, very friendly staff. I only wish more hostels were like this. — Lior , Israel (2009-04-15)
Very good hostel, too many rules, rude staff the hostel is very good. nice dorms, good beds, all very clean. the bad thing is the key deposit have to be on credit card and only credit card. the aircon is timer controlled -- you push a button and it's on for an hour. no sleeping bags are allowed in the hostel, not even if you want to wash it (they dont come further than the reception). the showers are really good. no parking space. this was a bad experience with the staff, who act too childish, and some other things like aircon and the price is too much -- 27$ a night. — bram , dutch (2007-08-03)

I didn't actually stay here but we had drinks with friends on the balcony. It was there that I met my fiance! GP is ok but I agree that it has no atmosphere. — Bernice (Torquay Devon) (2006-10-07)

this place was definitely the best i stayed in cairns! very new with an outback central australia colour scheme, extremely clean and spacious. no bunk beds! good security, comfortable beds, and excellent kitchen facilities. the entertainment room was great, had a huge TV to watch all the FIFA games on. dining area is a big outback styled verandah overlooking the city place square and in the evening you can sit and listen to all the parrots chattering away and enjoy the cool breeze. didnt use the pool as trinity beach only a bus ride away and besides the lagoon is much nicer. the thing i loved the most is that it is so central to everything, supermarket is just downstairs, and all the pubs/ bars around the corner. melissa at the tour desk is very honest and knowledgeable and gave me the best price on a tour to cape trib. stay here its worth it. — melissa (2006-06-11)

This place was quite nice and althought there you do get single beds, theres no windows, and a tiny pool. plus the tv and entainment room was closed everyday i was there. The staff are nice and friendly thought and it pretty cheap and central. Tip tho dont put the air con on too late at nite it dont turn of for about 3 hours and you'll freeze!!! — Lizzie (2006-03-13)

Not bad. Its a really large hostel (typical of the hotspots like Cairns) and this made it a little harder in getting to know people. The place was very clean and tidy and had good facilities, also it was well priced. the room was really nice too, ie no bunks. but the place lacked a bit of atmosphere. — CARL (England) (2006-02-13)

This is the nicest hostel I've stayed in in Australia, small dorms, no bunks, aircon, a huge TV and brilliant location opposite the woolshed.
The only problem is the girl who works on reception with ginger hair. She really needs to sort her attitude out, I've never met anyone so rude and unhelpful the whole time I've been travelling.
Other than her, this hostel was great! — Graham (2006-02-12)

Great location. Great rooms. Very clean. Staff were more interested in selling you tours then anything hostel related. But if you ignore them, then it's a pretty good place to stay. — K (2005-12-19)

I stayed in Global Palace for two months and it was the best hostel I stayed in. It was really clean and had a very helpful staff. (2002) — Frances Nelson (2005-11-06)

This was the best hostel I stayed at in Australia. Staff were excellent, and the rooms were great. I ended up staying there for three months. Awesome.
From the room 14 lads, Chris, Ginge and Jules. — Chris Pointer (2005-07-06)

Good hostel, very clean, with air-conditioning and excellent facilities. There's a great pool on the roof. There's not much atmosphere, though, and no natural light in the bedrooms. Great friendly staff. — Nicola (2005-02-23)

Top hostel, very clean and new. It has nice rooms, clean bathrooms and a helpful staff. Close to all the bars in town, so not too far to stagger to bed! — Jordana (2004-05-08)

This place was the smartest hostel I've stayed in. Good sized rooms and superb facilities. Did lack atmosphere a bit. The staff on the travel desk were great though, sorted out tours and bus tickets when we were too hungover to think. Nice one. — Steve Feeney (2004-03-01)
