Hostelz.com Guest Reviews
4  Really spacious dorm rooms and very quiet and peaceful. A great place to hit the pillow, though not at all the place to socialise. Great facilities too! Kitchen and bathroom in every dorm room. It's not the cleanest, brightest hostel, but it's a real got a pleasant Straddie feel with the traditional, low-key fibro shack. Owners are laid back and easy to talk to. I didn't see them much, as they leave you alone, but I'm sure they'd be helpful for tourists. Lots of information and maps. Close to the beach and bus stop. Perfect beach hostel.  , Brisbane, Australia ()
5  Great location (close to everything in Point Lookout) and nice structure, given the price. Fran, the owner, is really nice and helpful with its guests once you get to know her. I heard the hostel is going to be sold, so I am not sure about what might happen with it in the early future.  , Brazil ()
4  Just when I needed to get away from things for a few days, I found peace and quiet. A nice change after a few months of madness!! Clean, basic and friendly staff in very quiet area. Easy walking distance to all areas within Point Lookout. The bus stop is just accross the road and takes you to Dulwich for ferry/water taxi. If you want to get away from things and don't mind a beach and little else, this is a good place! If you want hustle, bustle and 24 hour nightlife then stay away!  ()
3  I have some great memories from this place mainly due to the people I stayed with. It is great for socializing and playing monopoly, drinking at their picnic tables and handy for the white sand beaches. However, though I had an awesome time I could see some people not liking it and here's why: I thought the staff weren't the nicest, it wasn't the cleanest and my golly it was SWARMING with insects at night...and I don't do insects well! But I'm not sure if there's much they could do about that. Good times! Straddie Island is a lot of fun.  ()
2  It was a nice hostel, very clean and homey. But if you want to have fun and party, this is not the hostel for you. It has very early quiet hours, and no noise is allowed. The lady that ran the place was not all that nice to college-age kids. But Straddie is great, if you want a nice quiet place. If not, try somewhere else!  ()
5  I had the time of my life! The people really make it! It's all happening!  ()
