Description
We're a very small hostel, preferring to call ourselves a farmstay. We are located on a working farm with a total of 900 acreas! Most people visit Bundaberg to work, but we like to think they come becasue they heard how good we are.
Both Glen & Sue have travelled extensively and decided that Secluded Springs was the sort of place that they would like to have stayed at - it's definitely a place to relax, unwind, spend a few hours (or weeks) fishing or swimming in the large dam (lake)just making a few friends. Most of our guests stay for 4-6 weeks and when they leave we let them plant a fruit tree - we get e-mails from all over the world from people asking how their tree's going!
Work can be arranged free of charge and this makes no difference to the price - don't get ripped off as some backpackers will charge a different rate if you are working.
The facilities are fairly basic - but we do have free bedding, lake, pool table, DVD's and videos, library and lots of time! We don't charge any extras for pick ups and do a weekly shopping trip into Bundaberg for groceries etc.
Glen is also a renowned joke teller - just don't get him started on the "green ape joke!"
We don't take bookings, but mainly because we are usually full!
So if you love the country and want to experience the real Australian bush - come visit Secluded Springs!

Secluded Springs is definitely a must if traveling Australia. It is one of a kind, there is nowhere like it on earth. You're traveling, it's supposed to be a holiday but then you find yourself picking fruit, and if you have to do it, why not somewhere where you wake up in the morning and watch the sunrise over the dam, work the day away in the oz sun with that awful powdered dirt, come home and jump in the always refreshing dam and go for a swim before you make yourself tea and settle down around the campfire? Secluded Springs is a weird but wonderful place! — Jen (2007-02-02) If you're planning to do a period of two weeks work or more then this is your best option in the area. The owners really look after you and make your stay as comfortable as possible. As a group of friends traveling together, we enjoyed how relaxing, cheap and safe this place is.
