Very average
Hostel far from Airlie beach but there are many Free shuttles. cabins are ok but the management is just looking for money. I have been charged three nights and stayed two over xmas. you must insert coin to get air conditioning for two hours! unbelievable. the photos you may have seen don't represent at all the reality -- forget the spa! the breakfast is average and milk out of date! there is no ambiance at all, it is just a quiet place to rest up -- forget parties.

This is not a Hostel, this is a resort! We stood in a four-bed bungalow. Own kitchen, TV, terrasse, garden. Quiet and clean. Everybody friendly, there for you at every time. Breakfast in the garden, fresh fruits, and self-baked muffins. A family-feeling! Free buses to Airlie all over the day, but also a nice walk. If you don't want to stay directly at the party-area in Airlie -- this is your perfect destination!

Great hostel -- best in Airlie Beach. Friendly caring staff, the best quality hostel rooms i experienced in a year of backpacking around Oz.

Excellent Hostel! I have stayed in Hostels all over Australia and this hostel is by far the best. In 2003 i stayed at bush village for three months, had the time of my life and never wanted to leave. recently when i returned to Oz for a months holiday i once again stayed at bushies. since my last visit all of the cabins have been updated (by far the best rooms in an Oz Hostel), there is now a new giant screen TV in the lounge showing movies by request and the staff are more friendly than ever. If you visit Airlie and would like to stay somewhere nice rather than wallowing in your own (and other people's) puke somewhere else, then stay at Bush Village!

Really lovely place to stay. It's not in the centre but they run regular minibus trips to the main street so its not a problem. The cabin was great, it really gave us a feel of seclusion. Free breakfasts were fab and they put a film on everynight so you can put your feet up and relax. The guy on reception was really helpful and helped us change our whitsunday booking. Fantastic place to stay.

Well what can i say but this hostel was well overpriced for the facilities given. The cabins are a great idea, but only if they are clean. The bathroom was bad -- it had rotten wood on the door frame not to mention the cockroach we came across was nearly the size of my hand. It was quite a distance from the town centre also so if you like to drink and party i would recommend something more central.

Overrated and overpriced for what you get! It appears that due to the general popularity of Airlie Beach and the hostel's positive entry in the lonely planet, the owners have grown more interested in your money than in you. The rooms are ok, but the breakfast feels like a trip to a school canteen, and finding a free table is a major challenge.

A really nice place to stay. The rooms were a decent size and most importantly, they were clean. The best thing about this hostel is the staff who bend over backwards to help you. Ken sorted out our Whitsundays trip and even arranged our next accommodation for us -- he's a legend.

From the minute we arrived in Airlie Beach until the moment we left, the staff at Bushies were more than accommodating. The free breakfast was amazing and the rooms were large, comfortable and air-conditioned! Also, we really appreciated the little details, such as flowers on our bed upon arrival. Furthermore, the staff really went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The pictures in the brochure accurately depict what Bush Village is all about — family, great hospitality and value. Thanks again to Chris, Rob (the best driver in Airlie Beach!) and the rest of the staff.

Clean with really nice double rooms and one kitchen and bathroom between two rooms! The staff were helpful, and the shuttle service to town was frequent. Free breakfast, too!

We stayed at Bush Village for eight nights and had the best time. Our room was excellent when compared to hostel standards — private, secure, clean, comfy beds, clean linen and towels. We shared a kitchen and bathroom with the room next door. In our eight days we had three neighbors, all of them respectful and friendly. The staff — Chris and Greg — what can I say?!! World of knowledge, eager to please, enthusiastic, friendly and the list can go on and on! The resort itself has everything you could ask for. There is a swimming pool, spa, barbecue, pool table, comfy couches, free movies nightly, free yummy breakfast, tour booking office, shop to buy drinks and nibbles etc. Generally the guests Bush Village attracts are friendly, from all pockets of the world and I cannot complain about a thing! It is close enough to town (30-minute walk, 2-minute drive in the free shuttle bus) to go and have dinner and party but far enough away so you can sleep when you are in need of it! All in all, I am counting down the days until I return to Bush for my next holiday. You won't be disappointed if you choose Bush over the hostels in town. Bush is the way to go!!

I've traveled to numerous different countries around the world and I can honestly say that Bush Village is THE best hostel I have ever used! Yes, that's the best in the world, not just the best in Australia!!! Had there been an option to give a six star rating then I definitely would have! Thanks to all the guys for making the stay so comfortable. Our Whitsunday sailing on board Anaconda 3 was awesome, too...this can be booked at reception.

This is a good, quiet place to stay just outside the main town. The room we got was very clean. It had a TV, fridge, air-conditioning, ceiling fan and little flowers on the bed when we got there. Ken and his posse are a good bunch and they'll look after you as much as they can with tours and bus runs into town every hour till 11 p.m. They play a movie on the big screen every night at eight, and you can feed/pet the local wild wallabies out the back for nothing. The rooms cost a little more than rooms in town but they were very much worth it. We loved it here.

By far the best hostel I have stayed in throughout my nine months in Australia. Family owned and operated with meticulous attention to cleanliness and guest needs, fabulous breakfasts each morning, large screen DVD movies nightly, Internet on site, bar, pool, and the best advice and price for my Whitsunday's sailing and diving trips. They do not sell their beds in cheap East Coast packages like other hostels, but concentrate on getting the best value ticket to suit your needs rather than just to make a commission as I have experienced elsewhere. Ken, Greg, and Chris have run Bush Village for 11 years and know every trip available and go to pains to make sure that the boat you are on is right for you. I cannot recommend Bush Village highly enough to other travelers. Oh, and I got to hand feed baby wallabies in the backyard, which was a first for me. Go there and see for yourself.

A very clean, nice accommodation. We stayed in a four-bed dorm that had a good kitchen, fridge and en suite bathroom. My only complaint is that they are motivated by the dollar, e.g. $1 for 90 minutes air-conditioning in the dorm! However, the price is reasonable and the accommodation is of a very good standard. Also, a decent breakfast is included if you can get out of bed before 8:30 a.m.!
