Hostelz.com Guest Reviews
1  Dirty, overpriced Definitely not worth $35 a night. Disgusting toilets and showers. Worse than some public ones I've been unlucky enough to use. Not just dirty but mouldy and really cold and horrid. No hot water passed 11am because apparently 'no hot water can keep up with 130 people'. Perhaps they should ask some of the Oz hostels that cater for 500+ guests for some advice about that. Not enough sheets for all guests either. No glasses provided in kitchen and only about 6 mugs in the whole place so couldn't even have a cuppa to make me feel better. 16 people in one dorm would be ok if it wasn't for the damp, the smell, lack of ventilation and lack of light. There is one plus though -- I'm using the free wireless to write this.  ()
3  Ok hostel with free internet This hostel is not that bad. Ok, toilets are not very clean and it can be a bit noisy at nights. Rooms are OK and staff also. Free wifi internet is the best thing about this hostel. Big TV room with pool table and a nice courtyard. Kitchen is cramped and fridges are way too small. Otherwise it's an ok hostel for some nights in Byron with free internet.  , Sweden ()
1  Horrible and dirty Way overpriced and so dirty even the staff avoids the bathrooms. The management is unfriendly, unhelpful, and really seems annoyed at you if you ask any questions about the hostel. It's so loud at night not an hour goes by that you don't hear someone yelling at someone else to be quiet. Too many other less expensive, nicer hostels in Byron. Avoid this hostel.  , USA ()
2  Disappointing Who wants to pay 33 dollars for a sixteen-bed dorm without toilets (while the common toilets don't look like being cleaned too often)?  , German ()
2  Wouldn't recommend it Rooms were way too cramped and i got bitten by bedbugs. The toilets were skank and the floor was always wet. The blokes bathroom stank out the whole place and smelt like it hadn't been cleaned it ages. The staff weren't particularly friendly or helpful. Good points were the big, well-equipped kitchen; how close it is to everything; and the atmosphere, but that might have just been because it was Australia Day.  , England ()
1  Doesnt even deserve one star Disgusting place, very dirty. far too expensive. very rude staff. the cleaners were so rude, the reception staff very unfriendly. if you don't work there they hate you. do not stay here. it is so dirty. the dorms are disgusting and the cleaner even told us she won't clean them, they are so dirty.  , British ()
1  Disgusting Couldn't sleep as couldn't stop itching, had to sleep with clothes on, and when I woke up in the morning had bites on me on places where my clothes didn't cover. Cramped rooms, poor security, kitchen disgusting, by far the worst hostel I have stayed in in Australia.  , uk ()
3  Ok This hostel is ok if you want to party all night and not sleep. Although the common areas are closed at 11 p.m., sometimes people still linger about -- plus we had noisy neighbours on the second night and hardly slept at all. It's a good location and there's a travel desk plus free pick-ups.  , UK ()
